the carpet added “character” but other than its jarring color combinations, it was fine. clean and well cared for.

excellent location and nice dinning room and sitting rooms. the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. the rooms were spacious too.

Toilet moved when you sat down, a tad scary. The coffee maker had a small pot but the coffee packets were for a cup size so the coffee was like water.

Very cute place with a lovely view off the balcony. Soft water, good breakfast. Comfortable beds and very quiet.

Minor item: It would have been nice to have a listing in the room on what each of the TV stations were. Having to go through the whole list to find a particular station was time consuming.

Overall the facility was very comfortable and well maintained. We liked the wooded view from our room.

The building needs some repairs, and some urgent repairs are very inexpensive. The owners should consider some updating but do so carefully so that they do not diminish the chalet feel.

The hotel is nestled in a beautiful location, surrounded by nature. It has a quaint, chalet vibe, perfect for its location. Walking distance to the Indiana Lakeshore National Park, yet easily accessible to restaurants and other activities.

We've been staying here for many years it is one of our favorite places, regardless of price. Inn is nestled in the woods, quiet & scenic. Most rooms have a balcony that opens to the woods. Also includes decent breakfast.

Decor needs updated. Pillows were horribly uncomfortable. There is mold starting to grow on the wallpaper in the shower.

It's different than any other place we've stayed. It's not in a busy area.

Plants in lobby and eating area needed to be better taken care of. Pruning and plant ties or florist string instead of garbage bags to tie up branches.

Easy to find and convenient location to Indiana Sand Dunes N.P. Breakfast options were very good. It was nice having a fire in fire pit that evening.

Air freshener/scented candle in huge lovely lobby gave me a coughing fit. The room was slightly musty, but easily solved: opened balcony door n turned on fan. A screen door would have been GREAT as window did not open-so no fresh air without the bugs. There were some cosmetic issues, crack in sink, rip in wall paper but for this price point these were easily forgiven.

Great setting in woods, close to various hiking/birding destinations in National and State parks. Far enough from train tracks that the whistles were poetic rather than annoying. Room well insulated from others so very quiet. Tall ceilings with fan made generously sized room seem huge. Shower had good water pressure. Private balcony overlooking woods. Heater was efficient and filter was clean. Big TV, decent fridge n little microwave. Safe for valuables. The office women were all helpful and professional. The one that checked me in spoke with staff to request no strong chemicals be used in my room.

No netflix or ability to connect to phones to watch netflix. Not huge deal but if staying with kids or longer would have been an issue for family.

Room and bed comfy, bug protector on bed was good. Tub clean. No major concerns with the room overall.

lots of smokers on the property. although we had a non smoking room, i couldn’t go out on the balcony because it smells so much like cigarette and cigar smoke!

quaint 70’s style cross between a B&B and a ski lodge feel. Pizzeria Uno on site and liquor available at the front desk for purchase. there is a pool, but we didn’t use it. The breakfast wasn’t bad.

the only thing i found a bit off-putting was that neither arriving, nor departing was someone behind the front desk...

considering the brevity of my stay, there was nothing not to like.
