Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI did not like eating with a plastic knife and fork at breakfast especially trying to pick up scrambled egg as it kept slipping off, not much choice of hot food at breakfast but plenty of other bits cold meat and cereal etc. Good location
The staff were very nice especially John on the front desk he was so helpful he booked a trip for us which made it easy I only had to pay it ☺️ he also answered all our questions.

BrazilI believe the room was too small for a trip for more than 3 days. There was no space to accommodate my luggages. Also the lack of price information for the shuttle to the airport could be solved/improved. When I asked firstly It was informed one value, but when I contracted, it was mentioned it was informed a wrong value and charged me more. Later, in the shuttle, other passengers informed me they paid a lower value of transportation for the same trip.
Bed was very comfortable, good options at breakfast, staff was the key differentiator for the good evaluation since always they tried to help and support us to have a great stay.

IsraelThe safe in the room was on the bottom of the cupboard. I'm 82 years old and that was extremely inconvenient. I understand the limitations, but for the price of the room, breakfast on paper plates and plastic cups was less than satisfactory. Also - the breakfast selection was minimal. How about some salad vegetables?
Location.

United KingdomBad lighting in the room (and no light from the window as it was facing the courtyard), breakfast was okay. Also a small part of my language got lost in the storage room - probably because of the amount of people and languages in the lobby it got lost or taken sadly. Otherwise a nice hotel.
Good location, nice room and lovely staff.

ItalyThe breakfast room was chaotic and food variety was poor. Elevators in the lobby won't stop to ground floor sometimes. Ground floor was always packed with people and noisy.
Good location. Modern furniture in the room. Good price/quality ratio compared to other hotels in the neighborhood .

United StatesI booked three rooms. In one room the water from shower leaked out into the restroom and seeped into the carpet. In another room the light bulb went out, the safe was locked, the restroom door was off the rail and at one point the restroom didn't flush . All things were promptly repaired or taken care of. No issues with the third room. Vanity of restroom was very small.
Beds were comfortable. The variety for breakfast was good. There was live music for 2 hours of the day and there was a lounge/bar area. The desk staff was friendly and complimentary water was a bonus. The cleaning staff did a great jobs in the rooms.

GreeceI did not like the huge use of plastic for breakfast. The cleaning of the room was not sufficient, they even forgot to clean our room one day.

United KingdomRoom doesn't have any type of view - looks out to other hotel rooms.
The room is a big size, and contains a fridge and microwave. Bed was comfortable enough, clean. Shower room was fairly modern, good shower pressure, a little bit small, but adequate. Nice breakfast provided, ample choice, and can take away if required.

Czech Republicwe loved the hotel what we did not like are the scam taxi drivers from the airport so before you travel book the transport from the hotel as they have legit transport company. with this you avoid the lousy robbers taking advantage of you (it did happen to us as well as other couple who we met in the hotel)
The hotel is great. perfect location, we did not use subway at all and walked down to Battery Park as well as opposite direction to Central Park - all nice 1-1.5h walks. Hotel is really clean and the rooms are nice and big, breakfast is superb and what is a bonus is the happy hour when you get free beers and wine from 4 to5 so very nice after all day walking :) The best seller of the hotel is the staff- Jeffrey and Hana at reception are the best. Whatever we needed they helped us. I would definitely recommend it to any of my friends

CroatiaI know it’s a NYC thing, but lack of natural light due to high rise buildings around. This could be fixed with lightning fixtures but there are only few in the room. Also, really small wardrobe, but you can manage with the couch :)
Wonderfully located 2 blocks from Penn station and only 10ish minutes walk from TS. Absolutely great personnel! Everybody whom we spoke to or asked anything were more than helpful and nice. Quick check in/check out, luggage storage provided on the day we left (they even have a scale to weigh your bags!). Rooms cleaned every day and well equipped (fridge, microwave, hairdryer, iron and board). Breakfast OK, not like in European 4* hotels but I guess it’s OK.

United StatesWe had reserved a King room for our stay of 4 nights and they put us in a double queen room the first night as no King rooms were available. We got a discount but it was a hassle unpacking-repacking-unpacking for just one night, what good is a reservation if they can't honor it? Breakfast area gets a bit congested during peak breakfast hours. There are only 2 elevators and they are slow, often stop at your floor packed, so wait, wait, wait, or take the stairs. Our room had a window facing an old brick building next door, but at least it was quiet.
Location is convenient and only 2-3 blocks from the Penn Station subway and train station. We took the subway from JFK and during our stay to visit various locations throughout the city, the Amtrak train to Washington, DC. The neighborhood gets a a bit funky at night but we felt safe at all times. Within walking distance to Times Square, Broadway, Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park, and 5th Ave. Rooms are small but that comes with the territory in N.Y. Bed was comfortable, clean and modern bathroom. Breakfast had good selection and plentiful but eating area gets a bit crowded during peak breakfast hours.
