How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The front desk closed, at a certain time..The room only had a king size bed.The pull out sofa bed mattress was not clean, spot and stains all over it. My room was on the 3rd floor, and there was no elevator .

Just a small gripe there wasn't a hairdryer in the room! But it wasn't a problem as we asked at reception and they happily supplied one.

Outdated! Needs to be renovated. Room painted white with brown trim. No dresser. Bathroom cheap looking to include vanity and mirror.

The rooms still need minor attention, our bathroom needs new caulking around the shower and the floor under the toilet is falling in.
The property is old some renovations have been taking place. It was clean and comfortable.

The bathroom could use some updating. The shower had no water pressure and there was no counter space for anything and could use more hooks to hang towels.
Very convenient location and was perfect for what we needed. Lovely charm!

Rooms could use some tlc—ours has no towel bars in the bathroom.

We did not like the narrow, steep stairs on the outside of the building. We arrived when it was raining and the climb felt very treacherous. The bed was fine but not very comfortable. The walls were extremely thin and could hear just about everything that made a sound in our neighbors' rooms. Next time we will opt for a first or second floor room over the view and balcony.
We loved the central location of this beautiful inn. We were close to dining, shopping, and the light house museum. The views were spectacular, and the inn itself is quaint and neatly, but simply decorated.

The walk-out wrap around porch was nice, but the entire west side of the building is directly next to a large surf shop, which blocks any and all views. I simply walked around the porch until I found a sunny spot, so not the biggest deal!
What a cute boutique hotel on a small, barely there island. The hotel is located within walking distance to all of the restaurants, the central park with beach access, and the ATM. It was really very cute, and the staff working there were accomodating. They have a stack of full sized beach towels in the lobby that anyone is free to borrow for the day, and lots of charming kitties lingering around outside, which I personally enjoyed. The first room we booked was inexpensive, but ultimately too small. The kind woman at the front desk showed us the other available rooms, and we upgraded for an additional $30 a night to a much larger room on the first floor.

The fire place was a little dusty and we were afraid to light it. WiFi didn’t work part of the time but it had a huge big screen tv to watch the football games!
The location is great, next to stores, shops, restaurants and the beach! For it being an old hotel it wasn’t bad. We cooked our own breakfast and the kitchenette had ample supplies and a nice selection of coffee pods!

Would like to have had coffee in my room. There was no coffee in the break area, albeit it was close to my room.
My room key was left for me without a problem after I requested a late check-in.
