How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The location was perfect. It was close enough to walk to just about anywhere you wanted to go, but in addition to that, it was very close to the Metro. Also, I was shocked at how clean the rooms and facility were. I don’t believe I noticed anything that could have been better than it was. This is probably one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

It needs independent heating and air conditioning. I couldn't regulate the temperature.
The room was very clean. I was able to get a good night's sleep. It was a 7 minute walk from the venue. The hotel staff were very friendly and pleasant.

May be The cost of the parking in the hotel was little bit high. But it's indoor , safe and has automatic doors

You have to reconnect to Wi-fi every day with password. This is annoying.
Hotel's location is not bad but quite far from the main places for tourists like The White House, Smithsonian Museums etc. In addition there are not much restaurants where you can eat. Most of all of them around hotel are take away type.

My room smelled kind of weird--sort of stale/musty. My clothes all smelled that way by the time I left. Rooms feel dated. Online the hotel was described as four stars. I would say it's more like 2.5 stars.
Location is great. Clean room. The kitchen is a useful perk. Staff was AWESOME! Friendly, helpful, kind. The hotel itself is like stepping back in a time capsule.

The temperature in the room was hard to control. It got chilly one day and we couldn’t get the heat to get warm. It just kept blowing cold air. The AC/ heat unit is noisy and makes a strange noise every time it kicks on. If you are a moderate to light sleeper, it will wake you up through the night.
Close enough to walk to a lot of tourist sites! Enjoyed walking through GWU on our trips to Pennsylvania Ave for breakfast and lunch daily. There is a bus stop right out front of both entrances which was really convenient. The door men were so nice and welcoming. It was mostly quiet. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was nice. Great water pressure and clean bathroom. Free bottles of water in the rooms! Sometimes it’s the small things.

The bright white lighting in the room was pretty harsh and irritating. I think guests would much prefer softer white lighting in the room. I didn't like that housekeeping was cleaning my room during lunch hours, which is when I wanted to use the room for my own lunch and some rest.
The kitchenette was very useful. After spending a whole morning walking around DC, it was nice to have the option bring some food into the room and to take a break. I also really liked the size of the room, giving us lot of space to spread out.

It was expensive.
The location was great. It was the day of the Cherry Festival parade, so there was no transportation to the capital. The room we had was incredibly well appointed.

I was surprised to find a full kitchen. It was like having a studio apartment with a separate eat-in kitchen. It’s not that I didn’t like it. I just didn’t expect it. I did not like the color scheme it’s all gray. I think beiges and browns would’ve made this a more beautiful place because the art deco influences you can see throughout. I also prefer wood floor to carpeting. All these are personal likes and dislikes. I would still recommend this property.
