Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Initially our check-in was complicated by the fact that although everything was confirmed several times in written by Booking.com our reservation was not on record. Whose fault? We don´t know. Looks like the communication between Booking.com and the hotel´s owner company was not the best. However the lady at the reeption did all she could to help us. Thanks to the fact that there were rooms available we could stay there and did not have to look elsewhere.

BelgiumWhen we booked, it was a Super8 motel. when we arrived it was a SureStay Motel and during the transition, our reservation data was not transferred by the booking.com system from the old hotel account to the new one. It took the clerk like forever to get things sorted out on the phone with booking.com !!!

SingaporeFree breakbast provided , but coffee was over before 9am Booking.com messed up the booking and did more damage by lying to me that everything is fixed.
I showed up at 10pm with family (after a tiring day at Grand Canyon). I was told by reception that I do not have a reservation (I had confirmed reservation via booking.com) . However reception staff were helpful and empathetic and managed to find me a room at the same rate booked at booking.com Its a no-frills place , but rooms are clean and comfortable. Ample free parking and a small swimming pool , which I didn't use. There is a laundry available too. More on booking.com fiasco - I called booking.com and they said they will fix it by calling the property. I waited at reception . Booking.com guy after a while told me he has already spoken to the property and everything is fixed . I was at the reception and they didn't receive any call from booking.com . Later booking.com tells me , sorry for the trouble , its a 1-in-a-million issue and they cant do anything. so , beware of booking.com. My advice is to contact the property directly and ensure you have a booking , before showing up.

Room was clean, including the linen. Breakfast was really good, more than what we expected for the price we paid. Check-in staff was very helpful, even he gave us some food coupons that we used the next day. Place is very convenient. Easy to find. Only 1 hr drive to Grand Canyon

United StatesDishonest staff. The staff member who checked us in lied profusely about our reservation not appearing in his records. Booking.com, however confirmed they were recorded and when we paid the increased price to the hotel Booking.com acknowledged the reservation as having been accepted. Booking.com took care of the matter, but the hotel never accepted responsibility. Consequently, this is a bad mark against Best Western, insofar they hired dishonest employees. Of course, it is a positive mark for Booking.com.
Nothing, due to the check-in staff member's willful dishonesty.

Afterwards I read reviews where several people had experienced the same thing. I had to book another hotel for a higher price…
