It was a bit warm in our room 1202. We weren’t able to get it any cooler. This should be fixed before the weather turns warmer.

Loved the decor and vibe. Glad we were able to bring our dog. We enjoyed eating out on the patio and the coffee bar was great in the morning.

if youre with a family or just with your girlfriend friends i recommend going somewhere else just because the location is very iffy and walking at night from your parking is scary lol. just be careful!! once we got into the hotel we knew we were safe though!

Surety was sooo clean and comfortable, everything was perfect. the staff was excellent help when we needed it and the parking was very convenient.

Blue lights shining in room 603 from the building next door at night. They came in through the top of the curtain. That was our only complaint. Oh, and there weren’t luggage rocks in the rooms.

The young woman at the restaurant desk who brought us (upon request) hot water and honey at night for tea was EXCEPTIONAL! She deserves special recognition. Long brown hair. Very sweet. Young. And kind. The black woman with the gorgeous long curls who checked us out this morning and helped us to the parking garage was wonderful. She was at the front desk at 3:00 am. Our daughter and granddaughter were in room 603 and the blue lights from the building next door shown in their window at night, even with drapes closed. That was our only complaint. The restaurant staff was lovely. The African-American waiter was really special as was everyone. Girls at the front desk, everyone was great we loved your hotel and if we come back to Des Moines and it may become a yearly thing with the Valais Blacknose sheep show each year we will definitely stay with you! we had three rooms.

Absolutely beautiful, phenomenal staff, clean room, extremely comfortable bed, and never ending supply of hot water (which was a bonus, as we expected it to “run out” like other hotels - and we were traveling with children, so it was a nice surprise to not have to worry about the hot water). On-site restaurant and bar offered very tasty meals. Also loved the refurbishment of a classic building; we need more of this.

The room price was expensive; the bar had good service but the bartender could not make a decent cocktail.

Lovely restored hotel with a cool, modern vibe in downtown Des Moines. Right off Court St. district with tons of restaurants and fun Saturday Farmer's Market. We enjoyed the clean, comfortable rooms with modern amenities. The restaurant food was all delicious. Service was always on point. That it's very dog friendly and welcoming is a big bonus for those traveling with their pets.

The lighting in the bathroom could have been brighter.

The rooms, lobby, and bar made us feel like we were in a very high class hotel. The guest room had a speak easy vibe- dark woods, refurbished wood floors - very comfortable bed and pillows. Beautiful dark green shower tile. We just loved it! The lobby is so cool- to sit and relax, enjoy a cup of coffee or a drink from the bar. The cafe latte art was amazing! I didn't want to drink it! The bar carries over that speak easy vibe. Exceptional drinks! Hived Minded and Get Lucky were delicious! We didn't have food here, but next time we will.

Surety is a beautifully restored hotel with a great vibe and super nice staff. They took great care of me and my dog, Amy upgraded us to ensure we were in a very quiet room so my dog was relaxed. The rooms are large and nicely done, bed was perfect. I ate at the restaurant twice and was very impressed with the cocktails and locally sourced fish, veg and homemade pasta. It’s very close to Court Street and the nightlife. I will definitely stay again and highly recommend it!
