Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBeautiful and exceptional historic hotel that has been restored but with all the modern amenities. You feel like you've stepped back in time to the days of glamour and decadence in NYC. Wonderful location, beautiful indoor atrium, excellent bar and cocktails. Perfect for a romantic weekend getaway! We will definitely be back.

United StatesThe only thing that I didn’t like was the quality of bartenders. Compared to other bars nearby, they are just not very well trained in customer service and drinks

United StatesI didn’t like the fact that guest stay at the hotel really didn’t get any discounts on dinning in or at the bar.
The property was located right in the heart of NYC, and close to all the main tourist attractions. There hospitality service was amazing. I was running late for wedding photos because of the time change. There was a staff member named Aldo, who was able to double check my tie and suit before I entered the cab. Him double checking my outfit helped me, so much because I was running late and a complete mess! thank you Aldo!

United StatesNot all Elevator keycards to access the room floors were working. And the bar was crowded and staff wasn’t checking vaccination cards to be seated to wine and dine inside. Ultimately we didnt feel comfortable having a drink at the restaurant bar so we left after being ignored by overwhelmed appearing staff after 10 minutes. The C level floor bathrooms (bathrooms dedicated to the restaurant bar) didn’t have running water nor soap.
Decor and clean bathrooms and rooms. Bellboy very helpful and kind.

United StatesThe photo on the website of the Premium King is different than the photo of the Deluxe King. I booked a Premium King but it looked like the photo of the Deluxe King. The bathroom door in the room wouldn't budge - it needed service. We had to change rooms. There is no brunch service on the weekends. Guests should be able to get brunch after 11am on a Saturday or Sunday.

United StatesThe only thing I would change is increasing the number of dinner options available.
The breakfast, room, staff, and feel of the hotel was well worth the money. Very clean, the hotel had a classic, calm, but uplifting feel. The staff was the most hospitable professionals I have met in all my travels of the East Coast.

India1. Though advertised as heritage hotel, overall feeling it gives is not of a heritage hotel. 2. Rooms are quite small, specially if you are travelling with family and have luggage. The one room suite that we stayed in was an insult to the concept of suite- it was so small that after putting an extra bed there hardly remained any space even to walk. 3. It also gave a very dingy kind of feeling. 4. Cupboard was smelling as if no one had stayed in the room for months. Overall not a good experience No bottled water was given on the first night.
Nothing much except that its restaurants seem to be happening place - always crowded and buzzing with activity!

CanadaManager isn’t a problem solver. Security have chips on their shoulders
We got a complaint for being noisy when we weren’t. Security guard came knocking on our door using intimidating tone and manner to speak with my friend. We had the NBA game on TV at a low volume. Yes, we’re talking and laughing, socially. We weren’t drunk, or having wild sex, or conversing loudly by any standard. This hotel is noisy throughout, that’s the vibe, there’s the loud bar/restaurant, a nightclub downstairs. So for those who are uptight conservative individuals/business travellers, don’t choose this hotel, seriously. I own a travel agency, also a formal banker, and had stayed at this hotel in the past. I certainly do not have a problem with some noise. You’re in NYC, for the love of god. Embrace it. Tell your security guys to investigate incidents thoroughly, call from downstairs first before pounding on a guest’s room door, ruining their evening. I paid $600 for a 15 hour overnight stay, my friend and I deserve to be treated well, as respectable paying guests! We’re allowed to watch TV, talk and laugh in our own room. We aren’t loud speaking people to begin with compared to most people around the property. Give me a break.
