Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt could have done with a breakfast area. The hotel took a $ 300.00 dollar security deposit I wasn’t informed of at the time of booking. This was taken directly from from my card but won’t be refunded for a week which I don’t unsecured.
Clean and tidy

United StatesMaybe upgrade the continental breakfast? Instant coffee machine and very processed cereal bars?
The hotel is beautiful--the staff was welcoming and helpful. I was particularly impressed when I watched the manager handle a customer who was truly obnoxious and rude--the manager stayed calm and professional. My room was clean; great view, great bathroom.

United StatesWhen you upgrade a hotel, you can be frugal without being cheap. The upgrades are nice but in truth are the industry midrange standard. Unfortunately in the bathrooms there was little thought given to amenities that might make your stay a little easier. For example, why only one hook & one small towel bar? There is very little room to place any items in the sink area - no shelves etc. In our room the power went out 3 times in one day & the heater had to be looked at 2 times (it was never fixed - always hot). We were finally told we could move to a different room and when we came back to do that the power was still out in our room. Nothing like packing in the dark. They did turn the power back on when we were almost done packing. There was no offer to help us from the staff.
Location & price are the two best things about this hotel.

United KingdomIt would have been better if the complimentary tea and coffee was offered in the room rather than a coffee station downstairs
It was a bonus to find the property offered complimentary shampoo, conditioner, shower gell and moisturiser

United StatesWe got a room with 2 beds and one of the beds was uncomfortable. It made so much noise whenever you moved. The two of us had to sleep in the one full size bed .
Location was terrific, close to restaurants & subway and the Theater District. I thought it was nice that they had coffee & fruit bars available in the morning. I liked that the room also had a mini refrigerator & microwave. There was also an ice machine in the lobby which I needed to use for a medical issue. The check in desk people were very nice as well.

CanadaWe had no control over the heating. It was too hot in the room so we opened a window but then it was too noisy at night so we had to close the window and slept with no blankets on. Staff was ok. Not rude but definitely not smiley and welcoming. Just ok.
Great location. Comfy beds but not the pillows (too hard) clean room with microwave and fridge. Good price for what you get. I love the coffee and tea they offer for free in the morning.

United StatesElevators very small and slow. Very few amenities, no coffee/tea in room, activity fee charge (for what?), specified 3 guests but only towels for 2. Thin sheets/comforter. Hairdryer did not work.
Location, history, very clean, spacious room, updated, lots of counter space, fridge and microwave, comfortable beds.

United StatesWish there were coffee makers in the room.
We often stay at this hotel when we come to NYC for the theater. We are so pleased with the proximity to Restaurant Row, love the neighborhood, and it’s in walking distance of Columbus Circle. The staff at the hotel is always friendly and welcoming. The rooms are so comfortable and spacious. A good value.

United StatesThere really wasn't anything that we did not like.
The room was great. I think we were on the 12th floor. I loved the space and the view. We did not have breakfast but we walked around and found great spots to eat. We are looking forward to coming back and staying again when we want to just get away for the weekend.

SloveniaWe encountered a strong smell in the corridor. However, it's worth noting that we quickly acclimated to it, and it didn't significantly detract from our overall stay. We did encounter a minor incident where the doorman attempted to persuade us to take a yellow cab by offering a discount through a friend.
The staff at the hotel made our stay enjoyable. The cleaning staff ensured our rooms were spotless daily – their hard work did not go unnoticed! Additionally, we appreciated the complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and tea provided every morning, which was a nice touch. The rooms, were certainly adequate for our needs as we spent most of our time exploring New York. The beds were very comfortable! The doorman was very helpful in handling our baggage after we checked out, as our flight was 10 hours later.

BrazilThe breakfast is not really a breakfast, more of a courtesy snack. They have free coffee, hot chocolate and a type of biscuit - that's it. The bedroom doesn't have many plugs, so we had to unplug some lights to charge all of our devices. The lights are not very good if you have to do makeup
The room is very spacious, with a bathroom, closet and mini kitchen (with microwave, sink and minibar). The bed is very big and comfortable. The windows must have a noise seal, as this silences street noise. The hotel is very well located, just a few minutes from Times Square, the subway station and Broadway theatres. There are lots of food options nearby, and there is also a supermarket close by. The staff is delightful and helpful.

AustraliaThe gym wasn’t that amazing, the weights didn’t go above 10kg, other than that I don’t have anything negative.
From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out the staff were amazing and very accomodating, the doormen especially. The hotel was very close to many broadway shows and Times Square and only a short walk to Central Park which worked really well for our trip.
