Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeI was cautious about hidden fees after reading other reviews, and I was definitely overcharged for my stay having to pay on Booking.com and at the front desk upon arrival, ask for an invoice at the end of your stay to cross check everything. Was so shocked to have a $450 hold fee for my 3 night stay, the front desk lowered it to $150 as I didn’t trust it would be released, am grateful for that but don’t understand why the hold fee is so high in the first place. As I was checking out, the couple in next of me had been overcharged as well. Asked for a late check out, was told it would be $150 for 2 hours. Some front staff were very warm and helpful, others not so much. I wanted to put some items in the back after checking out and the front staff said he would ‘be right back’, went to the back room, took his bag, and left? Took several minutes before the other front desk staff helped me out. For the price, I was expecting room service to be a bit more attentive. I ran out of body wash on day 1 and they took the robe and never replaced it.
Property is new and modern, conveniently located and within walking distance of tourist attractions and good food spots. Taking a Lime Scooter around was my favourite thing to do. The room has the most comfortable bed ever, and plenty of towels. Chromecast and live TV were working. A dangerous combo when hungover. Rooftop was awesome, the bar staff were great, the drinks were strong and the food good. Valet were really warm and helpful. I had issues with my card when checking in and the man at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. I didn’t catch his name but he was definitely the nicest person I interacted with the 3 nights I stayed.

AustraliaStaff were not very friendly and gave no help to find our room or give hotel info etc on check in. It also felt like we were bothering rooftop bar staff to be served and were ignored for some time although we were one of only two parties there at the time.
Room was very nice and clean, but quite small for the cost. Downstairs restaurant and rooftop bar were very pretty. Perfect location.

Czech RepublicThe staff... Pretty much everyone (except for housekeeping) were somewhere between ignoring to rude. Definitely made our feelings 50% down compared to what it could have been. Front desk unfriendly, rooftop bar literally ignoring. I don't think I'd return and it's only because of the staff. Expect rooms to be really small. Liveable, but very small. You need to self-park in one of the garages in the surrounding streets unless you want to valet, which is really expensive.
Hotel is definitely very nice, looks almost brand new. Feels luxurious from the moment you enter the lobby until the very end. Room was perfectly clean, very nicely furbished, quiet and comfortable.

NetherlandsThe staff at reception is not welcoming, team not knowing what they have to offer is simply no excuse! Nobody should care if they are not from the direct area, just educate yourself on the job. the valet team is the best though!
The beds will keep you in the room forever! Loved the shower with good pressure and the esthetic is great

United KingdomService was a bit inconsistent.
I recently stayed at the Godfrey Hotel Hollywood for a four-night trip and had a mixed experience. The hotel is located in a great area, just a short walk from the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Chinese Theatre, which made it easy to explore the local attractions. The rooftop lounge and pool area were definite highlights, offering fantastic views of the Hollywood sign and the city skyline. The hotel itself is stylish and modern, with a chic boutique feel. My room was clean and well-decorated, but it was notably small. There was barely enough space for two people with luggage, and storage options were limited. Additionally, the noise from the rooftop nightclub was quite disruptive at night, so light sleepers might want to bring earplugs or request a quieter room. While the cleaning staff and pool attendants were friendly and helpful, the front desk staff could have been more welcoming and attentive. For example, a simple request for a late checkout came with a hefty $75 fee, which felt excessive. Overall, the Godfrey Hotel Hollywood offers a stylish stay in a convenient location, but potential guests should be aware of the small room sizes and possible noise issues. Despite some service shortcomings, the rooftop amenities and central location make it a good choice for those looking to explore Hollywood.

AustraliaThere is lots of street noise in rooms, we were on 2 different sides of hotel. My teenager had a nightclub below them and could hear music all night and we had sirens and street noise on our side all night. we also could have been given a room closer to each other.
The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean and well furnished

CanadaThe room itself was a little small (difficult to lay out luggage) and you can hear traffic pretty loud at night.
Great place to stay in Hollywood. The hotel looks newly decorated and has pool, gym, valet parking, rooftop and cute courtyard. And, it wasn’t too difficult to find street parking in the area (if you want to avoid valet price). Staff members were very friendly.

United KingdomThe rooms are very small, not much room. There is no where to store your suitcase within the room. It is in a good location but you will still need a car or taxis to get to places.
The hotel itself is lovely. The pool area on the roof is amazing with 360 incredible views. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The ALK restaurant is also really nice. Within walking distance of the Chinese Theatre.
