United StatesFurnishings in the sitting area had holes and was worn out with cushions busting at the seams. My room was next to an exterior door and the 2nd door was not in place. Cold air came straight thru. Also, the door frame to the hallway had a big gap - it had been busted at some time. The cold air from hall drafted in the bedroom. Brrr

United StatesThe staff that manned the desk was okay. Not super personable, but did a fine job. Also, I may have missed the small print, but Booking.com doesn't charge for the resort fee. So on top of the room fee, we were charged $30 for our dog and another $30-$40 (I believe) for the "resort fee". No free breakfast, but there were food items available for charge.
The room we ended up with was really large and quite nice. It was fairly quiet. We traveled with our dog so had to be placed in a room that would accommodate pets. Hence there were other dogs that liked to voice their opinions. Not a big deal. I ran a trail run (Cart 2 Cart) in Mount Crested Butte and the location was perfect.

United StatesThe common areas are tired and the elevators are shabby. This wouldn't be so noticable but the following weekend I stayed at another nearby hotel for the same price and it was exceedingly more modern and up to standards.
Location is great. The hotel is getting a little tired and could use some TLC in the common areas but the room itself was nice and comfortable.

United StatesOnly 1 person working check in on a Friday night meant a solid 15-20 minute wait to get our room after a 4 hour drive. There was no outlet for the coffee maker in the "bar" area, so we had to make coffee in the bathroom. As others have noted, it gets warm in the room in the evening and there was no way to open windows in our room. The biggest issue was that we had prepaid via Booking.com, yet upon checking out they were going to charge us as their system didn't show that we had prepaid. Had I not manually checked we would have been charged twice. In addition, the $29 resort fee (which thankfully was included in our prepaid) includes standard amenities like WiFi, Coffee and access to the pool... things that most other hotels include, for free.
Our room was quiet and clean. Bed was comfortable and the room did have views of the mountains, so I can't complain. Being pet friendly is great and better than finding a sitter for the weekend.

United StatesAfter driving 4 hours to arrive at the hotel and check in, I was presented with a form that indicated that I was responsible for a $25/day "Resort Fee". Even through I had pre-paid via Booking.com and showed my receipt to the manager, she insisted I needed to show a different kind of receipt and that I had not actually pre-paid and that I was responsible for the fee. Things got heated and she finally looked closer at my receipt and reservation, and said I had indeed paid in advance which included the resort fee. She tried to explain why she didn't see that from the start, but it didn't really feel like an apology, but more a justification for her behavior. Due to her insistence, I felt like I was being pressured into paying a resort fee I already paid. I don't know if information is not being properly transmitted from Booking.com to the Grand Lodge, but the initial experience checking into the hotel was definitely not enjoyable and should not have happened.
