Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room was lovely but it was a Small room. No ice available, temp control in the room was not working which was ok since it was a lovely fall weekend but we needed to keep windows open for air flow especially after showering since the bathroom fan did not work.
A very nice full hot breakfast was included and prepared by a lovely chef. Great location easy to walk to and from the ferry. They have some nice amenities like a bike rack to lock your bikes to, and coffee pods in the lobby.

United StatesThe bathroom has a peculiar set up. There is no counter space or shelf near the sink.
Lovely location - about a block or two from town/ferry terminal. Staff was friendly, caring, courteous and professional. The chef was outstanding - delicious breakfast, made to order; and he is a very congenial person. We enjoyed chatting with him each morning of our stay. He is also the chef at The Barn where we enjoyed dinner one evening. Relaxing ambiance and exceptional food, prepared perfectly. We had some extra fun sitting at the chef’s bar where we watched the chefs at work. From the inn we were able to walk to Monhegan Bluffs, into town to rent bikes and to browse the shops.

United StatesJust a suggestion: Mudslides are too icey and don’t compare to those at The Oar.
Room was alittle tight with oversized furniture. Breakfast at the Inn was incredible! Staff super friendly. Loved our stay but wish we didn’t have to book 3 nights. 2 nights is all you need.

United StatesOur room had a private balcony with an ocean view, a comfy king bed, and plenty of drawer/closet space for our 5-day stay. The location was convenient to shops and restaurants, but quiet, set just up the hill from the bustle of Old Harbor. Beaches and greenway trails were also within easy walking distance. We knew to expect breakfast, but the cooked-to-order eggs were a delicious surprise. (There was a covered outdoor breakfast area along with tables inside.) We also enjoyed the meals we had in the restaurants attached to the main Spring House Hotel. All the inn and restaurant staff we met were very friendly and helpful. We really felt at home.

United StatesIt as awesome , after 3 weeks of rain in NJ it was as if the Universe specially commanded 3 beautifuk days for our first off the grid mini vacation of 3 days in 18 months.
Very nice size resort Inn/Hotel. We were on first floor right by Veranda but very quiet. Read outside as long as able. Did not need transportation, walked from Ferry and all over. good stretch of the legs . Spring House Hotel two doors down had spectular views for dinner, and sat on lawn with drinks and music overlooking water. It is in great location, just 2 blocks off main drag so best of both worlds with quiet and near shops/water/sites. My 23 y o son said he would love to snowbird here, live 6 months here in winger when population 1,000 and 6 months working elsewhere (he is a Naturalist). Awesome Breakfasts BTW cooked to order, great way to start day. Avocado toast w egg and Blueberry Pancakes with whipped cream and go cups of cut fruit-came in handy so hot we were dehydrated. Perfect spot, texted friend screenshots and we are hoping to come back for "Thanksgiving Stroll".

United StatesBathroom needs an exhaust fan. It got very, very steamy. Also need a swivel wall mirror for shaving, etc.. The room could use a full length mirror. Complimentary water bottles in the refrigerator would be a nice touch. Outdoor lights going up the stairs, were not functional.
Breakfasts were pretty damn good. Loved the coffee. Front porch chairs were really nice with view of the hydrangeas. Nice modern bathroom.

United StatesCommunication from your facility was lacking. It wasn't clear where to go upon arrival, I arrived and was unsure of where to park, there is no signage on the property which there should be. It wasn't clear that I was to ask for my breakfast. I was informed upon arrival that my breakfast would be available at 10 am the next morning. I then assumed that to be the case each day. I thought that was a bit late quite frankly. I didn't get breakfast Christmas day because I went to church. The last day I went down at 8:30ish but nothing, I went back at 10ish nothing. I've stayed as other inns and B & Bs in the past & it was indicated upon check in that breakfast is served between X am and X am and you can come anytime between that time frame for your meal. To have to ask seems a bit odd to me. I had planned on something special for Christmas which I brought for myself so I ate that day but I was a bit frustrated that I didn't have breakfast on the last day and I was travelling back so I wasn't going to have a opportunity to eat until the afternoon. I love Block Island and never came in the winter. Everyone I interacted with was very polite and kind and the staff was very helpful and accomodating. Chris and Kevin were both very helpful.
I came to unplug an relax and I did do that.
