Staying in a historic home that had been used as a hospital during the battle. Host Steve greeted us with a welcome talk on the history of the home and the soldier that our room had been named for. He was very knowledgeable about touring the area. Breakfast was delicious and prepared by Steve and Theresa. Tea and coffee were always available in the dining room.. Our room had a comfy rocking chair and books to browse through. Enjoyed chatting with our fellow travelers and Steve at breakfast.I am

The breakfast was truly delicious. The owner was very knowledgeable and was able to answer many questions that my husband had about Gettysburg history. He was very nice to talk to.

Warm welcome and some interesting history about the house and Gettysburg, from our host, Steve. We took the Spencer suite and it is highly recommended. Spacious, clean, just perfect. The breakfast was delicious and it looked wonderful. Fortunately, we had the house for ourselves, so we could have great conversations with Steve at breakfast, thank you again!

We loved the very traditional American breakfast. Steve and Teresa are wonderful Innkeepers and we learnt a lot from them about the Lightner Farmhouse, the battlefields and the history of Gettysburg.

Beautiful property with friendly and welcoming innkeepers. The muffins and the French toast casserole was our favorite! I truly enjoyed learning the history of the property. Steve was amazing. The home is beautiful with exceptional rooms like a parlor and outside firepit. There is a trail to explore the area. Location is very close to the city yet far enough to enjoy some peace.

It was close to everything and if I would have planned a little better I would have brought my bike. Teresa and Steve are very welcoming and made things very easy . It's a great place to get away.

We loved relaxing at this very pretty property before and after our daily Gettysburg sight-seeing. The owners fed us well, both in terms of tasty and hearty breakfasts as well as with plenty of Civil War knowledge and helpful local tips! A special place — highly recommended!

We don’t really have any complaints. The floor boards are creaky throughout, but thats expected with any historical building. They do provide you with earplugs, which is very thoughtful on their part.

The farmhouse felt so welcoming the moment we walked in. We loved learning about the history of the house, the delicious breakfast, and getting recommendations for places to check out around town.

Ambiance, comfort, staff was wonderful! The house was full of history and offered exactly the right amount of everything we needed to make our visit just right. We would highly recommend and will return to this accommodation again in the future. Proprietors we’re lovely people!
