Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt’s an old building, so expect oddly shaped rooms, uneven floors, etc. Every room has en suite bath but the shower is TINY. Road noise from 18-wheelers passing by during night. I think the art in the rooms could be drastically improved. It looked like junk from TJ Maxx when there are so many talented local artists they could collaborate with and exhibit. Travelers need to coordinate their arrival with the innkeeper bc there’s not always staff on site.
The common rooms are among the best I have ever experienced! So welcoming. Real fire burning on the bar side and absolute relaxed coziness in the library. Close to ski resorts and more affordable than other nearby locations.

United StatesThe name lead us to believe that it was all about the history of the structure and the covered bridge. We didn't know that it was more about the gourmet dinning experience. I guess we should have done more research.
The location was on a main highway and it was extremely noisy. We were expecting more of an 1800s B&B vibe. The room needs more period furnishings and decor. It looks like the last time it was updated was in the 1990's.

United StatesThe room size, although limited, still had space for a queen and twin beds. For a historic, former farmhouse, nothing was unexpected, although for handicapped folks, the stairs might be a consideration.
Breakfast, although at additional cost, was very good, with plenty of choices, excellent French press coffee and herbal teas, and special touches, such as the delicious chef-made jam and artisanal rye toast. Complementary Keurig brewing was provided in the rooms. We enjoyed chatting with other guests over cocktails in the library, without the distraction of television. Innkeeper Mara was very congenial and accommodating, and was readily available for information, or other requests. The chef, Jev, apparently has established a reputation because we were unable to reserve a place, having not done so in advance. The accommodations were clean, quiet, comfortable, and well-appointed. The property and outdoor facilities were well-maintained, and provided a pleasant country setting on the banks of the river. For a deserved tourist destination, the price was reasonable and comparatively modest - overall, an excellent value. For daily fare to-go, don't miss the nearby farmer's market.

United StatesI wish there was a tv in the room but it wasn't a big deal. I wish the room was a tad bit bigger but it never felt cramped.
The breakfast was delicious and the location wasn't too far from downtown Woodstock. The rooms were charming and cozy.

United StatesThe bed was uncomfortable...a mattress that was long past its comfort-expectancy. The bathroom was cramped, with only a shower-in-the-tub, and virtually no counter space at the sink.
Breakfast was superb. The owners very helpful, and gracious. They were very helpful in arranging dinner reservations in Woodstock for us, on evenings when they were not serving dinner at the Inn. The "library" was most comfortable, and a wonderful place to "unwind." The Inn's historic significance is well documented, and the additions (outstanding new bar, and dining area) are appropriate in their historic setting.

United StatesLimited access to the bar in early evening. Lovely dinner was served in the dining room which was very well attended. If you wanted to sit in the bar and have a drink during their dinner hour, it wasn't readily available. A bartender in the pub would have been a lovely addition although I think it's important to recognize the difficulty of hiring staff during this Covid/post-Covid period.
Breakfast and location were excellent.Staff were very engaging and helpful. Outdoor property is expansive with outdoor fireplace and adirondack chairs dotting the lawn along the river bank.

United StatesSometimes the highway no.4 and cars can be disturbing, however you cant hear it that much inside. Breakfast menu does not change, so do not order everything at once (even it is so tempting) :)
Beautiful inn with helpful and friendly staff and owner. They have only 6 rooms so it is never crowded. Huge property situated by the river where you can walk and relax. Very stylish rooms with comfortable beds and nice common areas. Breakfast was sooo tasty :)

United StatesThe lady who was the owner or caretaker acted a bit elitist/snobby if you asked her for something like it was such an inconvenience to her. She would eventually do it, but we always got the impression we were more annoying/putting her out than actual guests. She should work on her customer service skills. I've worked in the hospitality industry for years including the Four Seasons so I know how to make guests feel like kings. This wasn't really it. New beds could be improved too, a bit old and worn feeling.
Food was excellent and I do feel both the chef and the caretaker shined most here with their knowledge on food and drink pairing although still need some customer service skills. Maybe practice vocal tone and communication techniques to be more inviting.
