How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Wouldn’t turn on the courtyard fire pits. Over-chlorinated pool.
Overall design is great. Everything feels very new.

They didn’t acknowledge our bookings reservation ( couldn’t find it in their computer). Also said that happened often and we should only book without a third party. Didn’t like the lecture.

When we first got to our room, we immediately noticed there was something smeared on our bedspread and dripped down the dust ruffle when we got to our room. We were headed out to a class reunion and told the woman at the front desk. She said she would "take care of it". When we got back to our room it was 11:00 pm and a new person was at the desk. We went to our room, and it hadn't been cleaned/changed. That ruined the stay right then. We told the man at the desk and he said "nothing was reported to him at all by the previous person, and there was no housekeeping staff, so he came and looked at it and he said "I'm so sorry, that is so obvious I am not sure how that happened I'll move you to a new room. And he did. He is the only one who saved the trip for us. It was hard to sleep and relax wondering if things not so visible were dirty. But the gentleman who was also the bartender that night was very quick to make it right.

i made the “dog friendly” reservation in February; I called TWICE to reconfirm. I called two days before to make absolute sure I had the reservation to make sure the weekend would be fine. My pure bred, monthly groomed AKC Cocker Spaniel was NOT welcome upon checking in. I was turned away and fortunately found a room in Wisconsin Dells. I had so many plans to meet friends and celebratory meals which were canceled because we were not spending the night in Mauston. the Lodge caused a major inconvenience.

I was never given any information about what's offered where things are or anything. I had to ask about parking and which way was the room. Literally was just asked to put the card in paying with in- pointed to the machine. I had to ask about WiFi, pointed to where I can get the password. Lady was not very good.

Restaurant closed just as we arrived to the restaurant and we had a long trip. It would of been much nicer if they would of tried to accommodate us with some options. Had to drive into town to get any food, Not happy. Also the breakfast wasn't really a breakfast. Nothing hot is just eating from a pantry.

breakfast was in a little room with snacks I would not call it breakfast. The rooms were very nice and clean I really liked the decor the pool very good and location nice and quite part of town.

The pool area, business center and laundry room were not cleaned daily. I checked into a "clean" room that still had garbage in the bathroom and the floor had not been cleaned. Very inconsistent housecleaning.
The breakfast was ok, bread and English muffins were a little stale.

We were there for 3 nights and had zero housekeeping. I understand that was I -part due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the fact that we paid full price for the rooms and got nothing but a very uncomfortable bed to sleep in and a shower that was tepid at best. Would have been nice to be offered a little bit of a discount. Had to go to the front desk for clean towels and when I did they acted like I was A thief and said I had to “exchange my dirty towels for clean ones”! Had I known that this was their policy, we would have gone across the street to Best Western and saved $100 off the hotel room fees. The HVAC unit was so loud we had to turn it off to be able to sleep, and the mattress felt like sleeping on a bed of rocks. Will not stay again.
The location was good because we were there for a family event. The staff was friendly.

The pool area was not great. Having children in hot tub and children not be fully supervised. One adult that is drinking in corner and 8 kids swimming or in hot tub.
The breakfast, cleanness, comfort was great.

The pool and hot tub area is small and fills up quick. Other customers were not in the sharing mood.
The staff was amazing! Room was super clean and very nice as well as the rest of the facilities. Breakfast was a huge spread if you left hungry it was your own fault.
