The single driveway left us stranded both mornings. The first day, a FWD vehicle was stuck and was blocking the driveway. Day 2, a pickup crashed into another car in the driveway and blocked the exit. The heater sounded like a jet taking off, which was less than ideal when trying to sleep

Easy to get to. Comfortable beds

The promised hairdryer wasn't there. Doors were little hard to open. Shower barely had any pressure. Found a few hairs in the sink/shower that weren't ours, could be a little cleaner.

Location is good. Cozy lobby. Practical way of checking in without having to physically meet personnel. Good bed. I also liked the options the television had (a selection of nice series and movies you can pick from).

Had a broken tile. You may want to let the guests know that the shower is in the room and is not private. Breakfast was only store bought pastries and coffee maker did not work.

The bed in our room must have been made by inexperienced child slaves in the 1930’s. It was easily the worst bed I have ever slept on in my entire life. Creaky, wobbly and structurally unstable. If anything is done, the bed frames need to be replaced. Leaving the mattress on the floor would be better. The building is clearly quite old, and some parts of the room needed maintenance, and a fresh coat of paint needs to be applied. The floor boards were dirty, like they hadn’t been cleaned for a year or so, and the curtain for our ground level room wasn’t sufficient privacy (please add blinds)

The place was clean. Very clean. The thick scent of clorox came wafting through the very walls at all times. Thank god there was a window to prevent suffocation. The fridge in our room was stocked with chocolate milk, cereal and a danish. The water pressure was good and the water gets warm quickly.

The sofa bed was so uncomfortable that my son even said to me, they shouldn't advertised this as a bed. Some hungers would have helped to keep our clothes more organized.

The place was neat and well arranged. The staff was prompt to help us and make us feel welcome and comfortable. The variety of things to eat for breakfast was big but it'd have been nice to have more healthy things.

The Customer service was horrible. Horrible. Horrible. They were not understanding or considerate at all. I asked to cancel they didn’t allow it so I asked them to change my dates due to a storm coming and knowing that this season the storms have been quite intense at Mammoth and sometimes the roads close. Other hotels have been very understanding and accommodating. But not them. Wanted to save money but in the end regretted it. Save your self a head ache and pay a little extra and stay somewhere else!

The smell of Pinesol wafting throughout the tiny room and the whole building. The sheets looked like they were clean but there were blood stains on them! The Bathroom had mold all around the bottom of the shower glass and door enclosure and I'm not sure what was on splattered around on the bathroom walls, but they needed a good cleaning as well.

Not a very good selection, it consisted of your choice of a cup of Frosted Flakes or a refrigerated package of 2 very small pancakes and a small selection of granola bars also a few individual containers of white and chocolate milk.

The glass to my room fell through and glass broke all over the bathroom floor. I stepped on glass and got a couple glass wounds. I addressed these problems with the host and all that was said was that i would be put in a different room. I didn't feel that the host took into consideration the seriousness of the situation. I was able to get a refund but did leave feeling a complete lack of empathy.

The place was dirty: blankets were dirty, same was the floor, especially the bathroom. Door was broken, even if it was closing you could partly see through the door. Noisy floor: since everything is made in wood; If you stay at the first floor, you can hear everything from the rooms in the upper floor.

Great lodge in a good central location in Mammoth Lakes

There was a slight feel about a 'hostel' to the place (and I use that term loosely), it wasn't like your typical hotel as such. It didn't bother me in the slightest. I write it in case there's anyone reading this who would expect a typical hotel experience, you wouldn't get that experience here.

A great lodge that was definitely worth the stay. Location was close to the North Village where the gondola's are to go up Mammoth Mtn. Just around the corner was a great bar called John's that we frequented at on the couple nights we were there. The room was very roomy and didn't expect to get such a large bathroom. There was a big jacuzzi bath which was put to good use after a day of hiking around the area. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Didn't have much contact with them as there is no typical check-in desk but we did have a conversation in the corridors when we were entering the property.

Heater next to hangers melted expensive Jacket - Fire hazard! Not safe and they could care less.
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Economy Double Room
    • Stayed 1 night

We decided to stay one night earlier before checking in with our other rental and friends. Unfortunately this hotel, first, the rooms are much smaller than they appear in the photos. Granted it was the only room we could find, so that explains the very costly expense for what one received - basically the same as a luxury 3 bedroom condo when booked ahead of time. The room was freezing and took a long time to warm up. Also, there were ear plugs next to the bed for noises. Not good. BUT the WORST part of our stay which as of yet has fallen on dead ears is that the portion of the room one hangs their clothing up on, is RIGHT next to the heater. There's no where else to move it. I hung my ONLY Parka I had to ski in the rest of the trip on the hanger and it was NOT touching the heater. Well, the heater was so hot, it melted a portion of my very much loved and adored and ONLY Ski Jacket. I contacted them and will most likely take them to small claims court as they could care less. But more importantly, when one sees the photos, it's a miracle that it didn't start a fire. I would guess a hotel building inspector might recommend not to have one's hangers right next to a heater when this can happen. If my jacket had been very flammable (versus melting like plastic) it would have been a seriously, dangerous situation. Based upon their mishandling of my complaints, I will never stay at this hotel every again.

Always love Mammoth. Won't stay in hotel ever again for reasons below.
