Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only thing I would recommend is to request a room on the top floor. Our upstairs neighbors walked around a lot (sounded like stomping), and that unfortunately kept us up later than we wanted. Other than that, it was a very nice stay!
Fantastic proximity to Climate Pledge Arena and Seattle Center. It's just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the touristy spots, making it a bit quieter, but still very walkable to many things. The staff at The Maxwell were very friendly and accommodating. The pineapple cookies were a welcome snack in the afternoon. Our room (junior suite) was quite large, and the beds were very comfortable. Finally, a hotel that understands that good pillows aren't super squishy!

CanadaCost of parking wasn't cheap at $42 a night, I don't expect free parking however that was pricey.
Great location, a unique hotel experience, and very friendly staff. We would definately stay here again or the other Pinapple hotel location. I have now stayed at both the Maxwell and the 5 Pinapple hotels in Seattle and both were great.

United StatesThe cost for parking on Booking said $37 a night but at the hotel they said $42. Then when I paid because they added taxes and fees it became $52. Unacceptable to not be given any advance disclosure. Bar drinks were limited.
The location and the quality of the bedding and bedroom were excellent

United StatesOne small thing. We had ordered a car thru the reception desk the night before. When we got to the lobby, the car had been given to someone else. The fellow at reception seemed unconcerned. He kept thinking we were using it to go around town, and was a bit dismissive and preoccupied. We were going to the airport and eventually we luckily caught an Uber that had dropped off someone else.
It was very comfortable and clean. The beds were great. The guests seemed to be very happy and polite.

United StatesThe food options in the hotel are very limited. It does not have a real restaurant, but just a coffee shop that turns into a bar at night. There are lots of food places within walking distance though.
Location is excellent if you want to be near the Climate Pledge Arena/Space Needle/MoPop. Bed is very comfortable. The linen that they seem to be very proud of lived up to the promise. The staff are very pleasant.

United StatesThe coffee was only ok. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with our plans, but the hotel can't control that.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially the young lady at the bistro. The beds were very comfortable. Location was great, close to everything we wanted to see. Got in late at night, and the staff rushed out at our arrival to retrieve our luggage. Welcome site after a long day of travel.

United StatesThe pool is a bit small, and initially, the AC was not working. We had to get someone to fix it. 380$ for one night is pretty steep, tho, for a room on the smaller side and no breakfast included.
Really good service at the front desk, hotel is really nice & clean on the inside. The room was nice & clean, but pretty expensive for its smaller size.

United StatesI loved that the hotel offered free bicycles and we spent 6 hours riding around Seattle. It's one of the main reasons I chose this hotel along with price, location and reviews. I would love if the hotel added water cages to the bicycles and made sure all the bike seats were adjustable. Having a set of tools on hand would be a bonus to make minor adjustments. We stopped at REI to get the seat adjusted. The free glass of wine was a nice touch, the rooms are roomy, and the bed, pillow and twin duvet are super comfortable. I would have like to have had a super powerful shower head after the day's bike ride, but I survived. We would stay here again.
