People snore. Medi Evan grave pits are probably stacked with loud snorers

The location is so rich in history. It was nice to be there but above and a bit removed like a deep sea dub

They are brand new so I don't want to be harsh. Their cleaning lady was cleaning way too late (during the quiet time) and she was very loud, seemed annoyed by us lodgers. And weird thing -the bed was too short -I am not that tall but it was short for me.Also -the all women floor section should have extra security lock on the door for safety. Rest I liked: perfect location, value, history of the building, & it is for the hosteling crowd.

I liked the general area, upfront staff, and room concept.

The cubicles are really too small. Walking up and down the stairs gets tiring, and maybe emphasize more with the guests to be considerate of the others (noise, cleanliness.)

The staff are wonderful. Polite, knowledgeable and helpful.

Bathrooms and rooms should probably have some sort of simple desks/tables to leave your things while you’re taking a bath or organizing your self at night.

Super well located. Smooth. Guests do tend to follow rules. Lovely social spaces.

Room is extremely small. No elevator. There’s a background music playing all day and night, non-stop, literally. You need to sleep with with some music playing which could be a problem for some people. Don’t understand why it’s not stopped in the evening. There’s paper on wall telling guests 9pm to 9am is quiet hours, but there’s no governance or reinforcement by staff. People made lots of noises in the middle of the night at 3am and it kept on and on. No staff patrols.

Location is great. The decor is themed which could be a good touch.

It’s cheap for NYC, this is a Hostel and staying here is a Spartan experience , maybe a little too Spartan at times

Way too Spartan! They only give you one pillow which is absurd. There are no blankets, only a flat sheet which is ridiculous. The floors are concrete in the rooms, the beds are rather low quality, there are no ceilings and the walls are paper-thin so you hear everything, and I mean everything. One person snores and everyone in the vicinity can hear it like you’re sleeping in the same room. You hear when someone next door moves around in their bed, so bring Earbuds or headphones and sleep with noise canceling turned on and you will enjoy it more. I used noise canceling earbuds. Be prepared that shower rooms / bathrooms are for men and women, they are “Gender Neutral” They need to give you two pillows and a blanket at least, but you want a second pillow they were going to charge me for it. That’s hands done idiotic. Oh yeah and can you please put some mirrors in the rooms that aren’t the size of an espresso cup saucer?? Kitchens are nice to have but they 100 percent need to add Laundry facilities. How can you have a hostel with no laundry services? They need way more hooks to hang things in these tiny cubicles and put a real shelf in the room. No shelves and two hooks? Seriously??? You have nowhere to put anything other than under your bed. That really is not good at all! Overall it was just OK, I don’t know if I would do it again. It’s somewhat inexpensive for NYC, but you give up a lot to stay there and it’s still almost $100 a night so it’s still somewhat pricey for what you get other than location and a super nice staff.

Location is pretty central, it’s for sure in a good location to be, but there is NO NYC subway stop close by, you have to walk a little. The staff was very young but they were great, very nice. Dani, the girl that works the front, was stellar and a great representative. She and the staff were all very nice! The lobby and hang out rooms are really well decorated. I love the art and overall look of their “Living Rooms” it’s very intentionally vintage. Very cool furniture.

The showers didn’t heat everyday, even when heated, not too hot, so taking shower was a little bit hard, also the bed is short, I have 1,75m, and slept with feet out from de bed, so if you tall, be aware of. Note: the roof of the cublices are open, otherwise you would suffocated inside them (lol), but I had my ears plug in and this was not a problem for me, but also be aware that some people can be very loudly

Real good region to be in NYC, the coolest neighborhood in town, the staff are great and the common areas very comfortable and cozy. It’s worth a while if you are traveling alone and low budget.

Not property issue: As I was expecting, I could hear another guy snoring! He was snoring from 6pm until 10am next day with a few short breaks. Haha I used my airpod with noise cancellations and was all good!

These are cabins with open ceilings in a large covered area! Pretty cool. Price was great, and I had privacy. Over 100 years old but in class and clean, recently renovated and rebranded. I was literally one of the first people checking in!

There is a night club downstairs. In my bed it reached 79db in addition to the vibration of the walls. Despite all my complaints that day, I didn't move to another room. Furthermore, in the early hours of the morning, I was informed that I would be reimbursed for the daily rate, however, none of the employees knew the information afterwards, this created a contradictory situation for me. I didn't receive the refund. Only the next day they changed my bed

I do not think that a woman would approve of that. First, there were like 50 rooms, and only three showers. They were not divided by gender, and there was a curtain, but it was a see-through from above the neck. It is super weird to shower with people seeing you. Also, I had terrible experiences. I got there, and a guy was showering naked, open curtains. I mean, it is not the hostel's fault, but he was probably doing that because the showering space was SO SMALL (I mean, if you are just a bit overweight, you would fit). They should have more bathrooms (or divided per gender or with doors). Also, I could not sleep for some nights there because people were making so much noise. (I mean, it is around 50 "rooms" with walls just halfway through the ceiling, so you can hear everything. Again, it is not the hostel's fault because people are so incovinent, but they should have rules and reinforce them, at least.

The staff is nice, it is generally clean. The location was good as well.

Nolita express is an historical building served as a military campus back on 1927. Today the building is fully renovated, and its location is downtown Manhattan close to all the most animated neighbourhoods ! Also , it’s charming and classy, the decoration is French style, and we can hear jazz music all around the common areas of the hostel. I was lucky to be there for one week and I was one of the first clients. In the beginning I had a small room , after the manager upgraded me to a double room for the same price ! Both 2 managers and ALL staff were great and I appreciate their help. Every time I was asking for something they were listening and paying attention. Bathrooms and kitchen are very clean. Rooms don’t have a ceiling and this is normal : we could not breathe otherwise ! It’s normal also that we hear noises of other people sleeping, it’s a hostel. But if we see the prices of the hotels in NY, living in Nolita hostel is the best option. Also I was feeling very secure in the hostel : 24h/24h there is someone in the entrance and also there all a lot of security cameras I was lucky and I strongly recommend it to everyone else.

The hostel was not ready for business. Workers were moving in and out of the common areas and dormitories throughout the day for construction and repair work. There were blockage and drilling noises. I booked a female dormitory but there were male staff, workers, and even guests getting inside and moving about. That defeated the purpose of booking a female dorm as the ladies here want privacy away from the males. Especially when it comes to the shower where there are no shelves for us to put our toiletries, clothes, and towel (except for the last shower cubicle, but it doesn't have a curtain cover), there is only one hook for each cubicle so we have to wrap a towel around our body and waddle to our cabin for change. Males can easily enter the dormitory and bathroom - I hope a stricter policy can be enforced for the female dormitory here. There are 35 cabin rooms in the female dormitory, but not all are occupied for now as the hostel is not fully functioning yet. I saw about 7, or 8 ladies here so we didn't have any issue waiting for turns for the shared 3 toilets and 3 shower cubicles. But I think this could be a potential issue when the hostel is fully booked. As mentioned, there are so many cabins but I was given the one right in front of the toilet. It was the worst cabin of all. I got disturbed by the loud opening and shutting of the toilet door every morning and midnight till 3 am by other guests - there was no use wearing the given earbuds or noise cancelling earpods as I could feel the vibrations as well. I did not sleep well throughout my stay. The stench from the toilet also wafted into my cabin in the morning and midnight. Guests were not mindful about disturbing others and slammed the doors and talked loudly sometimes. Heavy bass and vibrations from the clubs/pubs nearby could be heard and felt in the cabin on Saturday from midnight to 3 am. I loved the common areas though.

The common areas are nicely decorated with a relaxing ambience. Staffs are friendly, responsive, and helpful. The price is considered cheaper than most hostels in NYC (but at a mental cost, though).

Everything else. Property is not ready to receive guest. Renovations were still being done. The kitchen had strong smell of paint. Toilet doesn’t have hot showers. No toiletries so bring your own. The cabins are the worse. There’s visibly thick layers of dust on the wooden panels above the beds. Imagine what you see in the bag of the vacuum cleaner. The sleeping area is very noisy and not enough soft materials to absorb sound. Beds are not comfortable too. A very thin sheet provided as blanket.

Nice lobby, friendly and helpful staff.

    - you are basically with 50 other people in a sleeping-room, separated by thin woodpanks - THERE IS NO CEILING IN YOUR "ROOM", which was not visible in the pictures - Because of this, you hear everyting, a lot of people are snoring very loud and you can't sleep at all - there was just a very thin bed-sheet, which is okay on warm days, but not at this period of time

    - the location is very nice - the price is ok, in relation to the other hotels in the area
