Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilVery expensive garage, why charge US$25.00/day?? Caution if you are planning to walk close to the hotel (Beggars and weird people in the streets close to the hotel).
Good hotel, good bed but in a small room and very small bathroom. Friendly staff in a very good location (close to the Ponce City Market).

United StatesOnly complaint would be no full blackout curtains, the shades block most of the light, but fully closing curtains would have been nice. Shower was a little small.
Honestly, one of the best hotel experiences I have had. This Boutique Hotel has such a cool vibe and is decorated with local art and fun furnishings. The staff and amenities were great: Gym, Upbeat music, lively Courtyard, Bar and Cafe. Dantae checked us in and everyone at the front desk was helpful, friendly and fun to talk to. Our bartender, William, gave us great recommendations for live music and food (Smiths Old Bar and Grana for pizza). We had coffee at the cafe/bar and worked out at the well appointed gym each morning (there is free filtered water available there, bring your water bottle). Our room was perfect for our adult getaway. I believe we got the king with extra room. Location was perfect in the Midtown neighborhood where we felt safe and immersed in the culture of the neighborhood, (we heard it’s much better/sader than staying downtown). The hotel is walking distance to Ponce City market and a short Uber to the Botanical Gardens and the Art district. We had a great time chatting with the Manager Imani, she also stoped what she was doing to make us coffee (I think the cafe was actually closed at that time, so that was sweet). She even waved to us goodbye from her office as we left. Would definitely stay again! Thank you!!

United StatesFirst off - there was an incidentals fee of $150, plus the dog fee of $100 that we weren't made aware of prior to check in. On day 3 of being there I asked for the bed to be changed and fresh towels. They said they'd be there shortly. A few hours later I asked up front about it. We left and returned after 9pm to find that we still didn't have fresh sheets and towels. I don't know what the miscommunication was.
It's a cute, eclectic place. Full bar inside. Nice lounge areas. First night we were there, there was a band in the courtyard. We were too tired from traveling to enjoy it, but it looked really nice.

United StatesAbsolutely nothing
The ambience in the bar/ lobby, the room, the bed was so comfortable, the whole room was impeccably clean and very stylish. The employees were warm, helpful and very welcoming. The rooms had to be sound proof because we were right next to the elevator and we heard nothing like slamming doors or people coming off the elevator. We slept so good! My husband and I will definitely be staying here again.

United KingdomThe immediate area isn't the most appealing, but within 10 minutes walk you can be at Ponce de Leon market which has a lot of food and drink options. The room was a little bit annoying to work with two suitcases (we were needing to unpack and repack sometimes) - it was a bit small and not configured that well for us, in so far it had masses of floor space near the toilet but not places to easily put our suitcases out of the way.
The Darwin felt very modern and fresh, with a quirky boutique kind of vibe. The staff were very friendly. It was great to have the outside courtyard area to get some air and enjoy the bar.

Check in and check out with ChYann was flawless. She recognized that this was our first stay at the Darwin. Made us feel very welcome. She was just as gracious when she handled our check out. True professional! Amanda, she was another professional at the bar. WOW, she was great! Engaging, enthusiastic, loved serving us. We love having her care for us.

United StatesThe breakfast options were a bit limited, but if you are up for an excursion, there are great places to dine or grab a bite in the area. I would definitely visit this location again.
The staff was super helpful. The rooms were a bit cozy, but the interior design is thoughtful and perfect for a weekend stay. Technology is updated and the atmosphere fun and relaxing.
