How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

As a long-time traveler, I was entirely satisfied. I only wish that this was a chain and that the other facilities offer the same ambience, service and comfort. I would consider making future trips to Carolina Shores just to stay and eat again.
I was delighted by the price and the quality of the place. My accessible room was spacious and was well set up for us disabled folks. The breakfast was satisfying, including an automatic pancake machine! The fellow at the desk recommended Michael's Seafood for my dinner. As an aside, the place is always jammed, but I found a close parking space. The host at the outdoor counter offered a 30-35 minute wait. My little flashing buzzer alert went off after 5 minutes. The meal was superb and the wait staff excellent.

Nothing bad to say. Expect , And not a huge deal, I had requested to be moved to the top floor during booking and when I checked in, the guy at the front desk told me this was the only room he had available. The hotel had plenty of vacancies.
Decent location, walking distance from the boardwalk. Clean and the staff was friendly.

The hotel had many vacancies but the guy at the front desk told me this room was all that was available and he couldn’t move me to the 3rd floor. I did request this during booking and while checking in. Not a big deal but could have accommodated my request easily.
Room and hotel were clean. The staff was nice and location was pretty good. Not ocean front but within walking distance of the boardwalk and beach.

The bathroom was a bit tight on space.
This hotel had several room options to accommodate the whole family for a soccer tournament weekend. We chose the family suite with three queen beds. It was a fantastic value for the all the space! We could spread out and relax after a busy day. The hotel was just as the online pictures show it to be-bright, clean and spacious. There was hot water for tea and hot chocolate and coffee all the time and the breakfast was sufficient to hold us over until we could make it to a restaurant after our morning game. The pool wasn’t open because it’s off season, but the grounds are well kept and the location is a five minute drive to the boardwalk. Restaurants are within walking distance. We turned a soccer tournament weekend into a mini vacation and this hotel was the perfect overnight accommodation to do that.

Customers in the room next door arrived at 2 am and decided to keep their night going. At 3 am we called the front desk and that worked. Should have done so sooner. Not enough breakfast equipment for the number of people trying to eat. We left.
