How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Upstairs tenants were moving around(heavy feet) late into the night and then again early morning(before 6am). Noise radiates down. I did find earplugs in the shelf nook Sunday morning though!
Clean, simple and everything you need. Sidewalk was cleared early after the overnight weather. Definitely would book again.

We thought a good addition to the bathroom would be a couple of hooks on the back of the bathroom door. The rooms could have a few more hangers. I did have lack of direction on the check in process. I may have missed an email since I was also traveling for two weeks before my visit to Grand Rapids. The contact phone number was not correct so I had no answer. Once I received a callback I was instructed how to access the unit. I would certainly recommend others to stay at 218.
I was able to travel with high school friend to join a small reunion in Grand Rapids. It was a treat to be in my old neighborhood. There was plenty of room and spot to eat breakfast. We loved the updated and modern decor.

The beds were comfortable it had all the amenities we needed. Close to stores it was perfect

Sidewalk was extremely icy and dangerous. Needed to be shoveled and salted. Need soap for shower.
Excellent stay! Wonderful home. It was what was described. Host was responsive. Definitely would kids stay again.

We were on an ice fishing trip. Would have been nice to be 25 miles north so we wouldn't have to drive so far every day. Just kidding. The light over the kitchen sink was burned out, but we moved a lamp that was on the counter. i should have brought my cast iron pans for cooking. That's all I use at home, and I had to learn how to cook on the stainless pans that were provided, but we adapted. Overall, it was a good stay
It was a good location for restaurants, groceries etc. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived and check in was easy. It was warm and cozy in the house and most of the rooms were well lit.

Everything was great. Nothing that I didn’t like.
Easy check in and check out, clear communication, very clean and nice place. This was my second stay here this year and I’m planning to book again in the future.

There wasn’t a Kleenex box. Conditioner and soap were runny but they worked. Wished the curtains were a little wider.
Nicely decorated. The space was good for 2 people.

Everything was great. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like.
Location is good. Right in the city of Grand Rapids. Lots of restaurants, grocery stores, recreation close by. The apartment is very nice and well equipped with everything you want: full kitchen, nice living room with large smart TV, wifi works great, nice bedrooms with comfortable beds and TVs, nice bathroom with a shower and tub. Everything was very clean.

The apartment was very clean. Beds were VERY comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Decor was modern and nice. Location was good, food store few minutes away by car. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Personally, I don't care for memory foam mattresses. Being 70 years old, I found the dip in the floor between the kitchen and living area hazardous. In stocking feet, I slipped and almost fell.

there was evidence the hosts were trying to mitigate ants. The ants were not a problem, but I could suggest a solution.
just about everything. we only used it for two nights. We had meals with family and at area restaurants, so we didn’t make use of all the kitchen amenities, but had we known, we might have prepared meals there. The smart tv far exceeded what you get in hotel rooms. The location was a short walk from our family gathering.
