Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe size of the room was so small that having more than one person can make things difficult. There is very little space on one side of the bed as well as at the foot of the bed and nowhere to put your bags except in the way. The barn door to the bathroom is at the foot of the bed with the toilet literally within 3 feet. You could actually see the toilet while sitting in bed. There was a cleaning cart left outside our room for all 5 nights of our stay and with the hallways being so narrow, it required turning sideways to pass. The breakfast was absolutely nothing special. Everything seemed pre-made off site, including the scrambled eggs. Lots of things are served in the manufacturer packaging. After a couple days, we decided just to skip breakfast. Also, breakfast cuts off at 9:30 during the week and at 10:00 on weekends which is just too early for this traveler.
The location was excellent and several subway stations were nearby. The room was clean and we felt safe during our stay. The bedding was comfortable and we slept well.

United StatesThe rooms are very small, almost claustrophobic. There was very little room to walk around the bed. You had to tilt to one side to pass by the TV on the wall. Bathroom was very small.
The location is great for my work. The property and rooms are clean and modern .

United StatesAir conditioning was very loud. Elevator was extremely slow to get downstairs although came often enough when you were waiting at the lobby to go up
Rooms although small were comfortable. Clever use of space. Beds were really comfortable and good shower. Liked that you could open the window to get fresh air. The kitchen was well fit out. Nice to be able to access hot water downstairs at reception 24/7

EstoniaThe hotel lobby is small and not comfortable, but in New York you have no time to waist sitting in hotel lobby.
The location of the hotel in Chelsea is the best for Manhattan. To most important places you can walk on foot. Metrostations are on the same street and busstops are near. The breakfast is good with small variations every morning, a bit more vegatables would make it better. The rooms are very comfortable with modern design.

AustraliaThe lifts were terrible and I felt sorry for the people on the upper floors as they had no choice but to wait for them. We used the stairs to get to level 8 95% of the time.
Having the kitchenette was brilliant and saved us a lot of money as we could eat in. We also liked the included buffet breakfast

North MacedoniaOur room was located on the 15th floor and in order to go to breakfast, we sometimes had to ride all the way to the top. We would wait 5 minutes and it would always skip us, as guest were going in the opposite direction. Breakfast could use some improvements. Not once did I see vegetables served. Would have loved some pancakes or waffles over the weekend too. But the vegetable thing was a huge no. There was some fruit here and there, a banana or an orange. There was a selection of plain, vanilla and fruit yogurt at breakfast. Now, this was not always the case. Sometime it was all three, sometimes just vanilla for example. My mom asked if she could get plain, and this blonde lady (taller, I wanna say with a Eastern European accent, not sure) rudely replied no! Just no, and that's it. I mean, you cannot be out of stock. Do your calculations and see what guests are eating and serve that. Even if there's no left, she works in hospitality. The attitude was just wrong. She could check, reply with a nicer tone, few more words than no etc. Seconds after, I was standing right by, and there was an older gentleman who asked for soy milk. They'd sometimes have soy, sometime almond milk. And it was left where the cereal was I think. Again, he asked where he can find soy milk. I mean the milk jug label could've been turned the other way, it happened before. At first I did not notice it because of that. She said: NO SOY MILK TODAY. He stood there confused and asked again. Same answer. The man was speechless. She could've just answered there was almond instead and point him in the right direction. No idea who that employee was, but she should be visiting HR's office soon. Another thing, it would be nice if there were labels/cards where food was served, so we know what is what. At last, our trash was left next to our door once.
The hotel is clean & conveniently located couple of meters away from the subway. There are multiple places in the area where you can eat, drink coffee & go grocery shopping. Staff was always polite with the exception of one very rude lady (mentioned below). There is a good selection of snacks at reception if you're feeling extra hungry after you return. Kitchen was well equipped and the cleaning ladies always left our room spotless even though it was a big mess - not a lot of storage space. Noise wise - it's NYC. Ofc there is some noise, do people expect otherwise?

United KingdomWe had to queue for breakfast but not for long as the staff were very efficient at managing the seating. Sometimes we had to wait for the lifts at busy times.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful ,we arrived early and they stored our cases for us until we returned for our check in time. The breakfast was acceptable, cooked and continental. Coffee and tea was available all day in the foyer. Our room had a little kitchen which was very well equipped it even had a dishwasher !
