How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There are rust everywhere in the room. The lamp, the bathtub, has rust that could have been clean and / or replaced.
The receptionist was nice and helpful.

No hot water for a couple of hours. Hard to control the tv. Remote missing back piece. No pool towels. Phone in room didn’t work.
The area was great. Close to airport.

There was no hot water at the hotel. I was informed that they were trying to fix it. I got the option of cancelling the reservation without penalty or getting a 15% discount off the rate. I was between flights and would only stay for 5 hours at the hotel. I think I should have gotten a better discount due to the inconveniece of the lack of hot water.
Room and bathroom were clean.

It was bare basics and not very pretty but there wasn’t anything wrong with it.
I had a very late arrival and just needed a cheap but safe place to stay for a short night. It wasn’t great but it was all I needed.

I didn't request a handicapped bathroom and I believe that was the clerk assumption. I wasn't used to it so took a bird bath &I didn't bother to shower.
I was only staying 1 night, my layover at the airport was 15 hrs., I was surprised that their was no shuttle and told to address booking.com for not noting this overall paid $25 roundtrip to and from airport. I liked that The Waffle House it was directly across from the hotel. The breakfast was good. The room was clean, a lil small but served it's purpose.

I reserved a king room knowing they're on the first floor, i got 2 full beds on a third floor. No elevators just stairs and im 5 months pregnant and with a toddler, I was not happy and once I made it up there I was so tired I just went to bed.

The carpet was not clean. The handle to hold the toilet paper was missing. There were cracks in the wall in the bathroom. Went for breakfast at 08h30 and there was nothing left to eat and coffee was terrible.
The room was clean except for the carpet and it was close to the airport.

sink- barely had water coming out of faucet breakfast- choose this hotel over other as it had breakfast. Had nothing more then 1 type of plain muffin, pancake machine that we waited 30 min for, which was popping out 1 inch “dipper”pancakes, apple juice, water flavoured with a hint of orange juice (no exaggeration), and coffee that was the opposite and needed a lot of water to thin. only thing else was a sign saying they had improved breakfast items (not sure where these items were? - despite being a airport hotel no shuttle since Covid. - we booked last minute so maybe we overpaid, but felt this hotel should have been about $20-30 cheaper for the overall quality.

Other than beds room was not the cleanest. The carpets bathroom and air vents were dirty. Even the coffee maker. The pot had brown old coffee in there when I went to rinse it out. Didn't use it. I was a room inspector and supervisor with Marriott and I was just disappointed. I couldn't even leave a tip which I always do as a former hospitality employee. Also hot tub was broken......
That I had ha room available. And beds were comfy and clean.
