Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesI asked for towels in the afternoon. They denied my request said the housekeeping room was locked. I inadvertantly forgot my used towels sitting at the front desk. The staff member on duty called me at 2:30 am to say if i didn't come get them they would call the police and kick me out. Made no sense. The manager on duty was not present at the property and was on some sort of an ego trip. He instructed his staff behave in ways that were absolutley unacceptable for any business in hospitality. They forced me to leave the property the next morning, refusing to add another day to my stay. In the rush I left some property in the room, I noticed when I checked into my next place as I had a flight to catch the next morning. When I called the same staff member said I could only come get my property with a police escort. They kept my personal property. Worth at least 3-400$.
The room was modern and spacious.

There was nothing in the app that said you had to arrange late check in and even if we did they don’t check in after 7 pm! We had to drive around looking for a place that took dogs being tired and frustrated.

IrelandI did not stay here because when I arrived the woman at reception said it was only a weekly accommodation and I couldn't stay one night. This was at 7.30 pm and I had arrived from Ireland, on my own, and could not phone anyone. I asked to be connected to the wifi so I could what's app my friend but she did not allow me to. Luckily there was a fast food restaurant near so I asked them could I connect to wifi and they allowed me. The money had been taken out of my account and after a lot of dispute and emails with booking.com , it was returned to my account 9 days later. Booking.com should not have this accommodation on their site.

They tried to charge me five times I have proof and when I got there they told me that it was not a one-night stay it was an extended stay so I opted out and left 20 minutes later they tried to charge me five times for one night stay I didn't Extended Stay that I never stayed at

United StatesThe Hotel refused to honor the booking.com confirmed reservation, attempting to force me to stay for a minimum of 7 nights, instead of the 4 night reservation. I provided BOTH the booking.com and uptown suites confirmations in response, to which the clerk told me I could either pay for 7 nights, or I would have to leave the premises. I literally was tossed out without a room, 300 miles away from home, at 9:30pm after a 5 hour drive. I was in shock. Had to drive around for 48 minutes, before finding other accommodations at double the price. I have been a business traveler for 41 years, have never experienced anything like this. I truly feel I was defrauded, certainly bait-and-switched in my view, just not sure whether booking.com is falsely including this property in its listings, or the property is just defrauding guests by attempting to force them into longer, more expensive stays upon arrival. What I DO know for certain, is that they showed me the door, late at night, stating that they did not care what I had received from booking.com,etc, the clerk telling me he was also an attorney, knew the law, and did not have to honor anything from booking.com. When I asked to speak to a manager, the clerk threatened to call the police instead, claiming he was the only agent of the hotel I needed to talk with. You can't make this stuff up. Unbelievable.
