Aesthetically: needs a lot of work; while bathrooms have been updated and room is generally ok, the property needs significant work/ paint; upgrades. Lighting in room is terrible; towels are paper thin. On site breakfast/ lunch is very good. Entrance to room is terribly off-putting.

Courteous staff; comfortable bed; good hot water and shower pressure; great location. We won't stay here again, but for what we paid it was just ok.

Beds are very hard, plumbing ( slow sink drain, taps drip) needs to be fixed, doors / window replaced.

The room needed some work. The bathroom door looked like somebody had left a dog in the room and it had scratched the door trying to get out. The carbon monoxide detector had no cover...not sure if it worked. The ironing board was hanging from a hook that was attached to the wall only on one side. We really had no warning when they were going to replace the roof, so we were awakened at 730am our 2nd morning when workers started scraping off shingles. When we showed the owners the nails in the parking spaces, they jumped all over the roofing company and got them to put down tarps and sweep up where they had been. It was very windy and some of the shingles landed on the cars. We moved ours to the restaurant's parking..

It was a one story building that surrounded the pool, BBQ, etc. It also had a laundry room and each room had an assigned parking space. The air conditioner stopped working, but when they learned it couldn't be easily fixed, they immediately replaced it. Anything you asked for, the owner was right there to help. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the shower was good. I got the impression that the owners were new and were really trying to make improvements. Of course I don't know how much the hurricane had affected the property. The attached restaurant was very good and popurlar with the locals.

Venice is an older, sleepy town. Nothing to do with the hotel. if you want nite life, go to Siesta Key.

The Door Frame was splintered at the latch where it had been forced open at least a couple times in the past. A sloppy repair had been made, and we didn't feel that it was safe to leave any valuables in the room while we were gone.

The exterior of bldg when we drove up was clearly a motel not an "inn & suites". The couch inside was dingy so we chose not to sit on it, not did our three kids. Thesmell of the room when we got in,... we immediately tied to air it out with doors open. Pictures didn't seem to reflect what we saw in person.

The size of the room and that they are trying hard to improve their motel. The outdoor courtyard was a perfect place for kids to play ping pong or swim. The beds were very clean.

My bathroom had some mold on the ceiling (which can be common in Florida) and several places where things had been damaged. None of the drains worked well in the shower or sink. That said the hotel is in the process of remodeling and from what others said my bathroom likely had not yet been done.

I love the outdoor space. The pool and the 'garden' behind it are a peaceful place to spend time in the morning or evenings and one could usually find someone to talk with if interested. The air conditioner in the room was a nice model and the fridge was well sized. I love to walk and the location gave me an excuse to get my steps in walking to and from town and various beaches. Easy access to a grocery store and Walgreens. Did I mention peaceful and quiet????

The hotel has zero curb appeal. We almost didn't go in at all. Once we got over the exterior we found a nice clean room.

I didn't like the patio door was the main interest for guests. The blinds opened on the side instead in the middle, which is how the door opened.

I like the restaurant, unfortunately they were no longer a partner of the hotel.

it was a shame that breakfast was not included, it would have been lovely to have breakfast around the pool area. The bathroom had been partially refurbished but the paintwork had not. The ceiling in the main room was dirty. The cutlery and crockery were very dated. Soap dispensers would be more economical and hygienic instead of new hard soap being left every day!

Excellent location walking distance to Downtown Venice and Publix supermarket.
