Couple of things that I didn't like 1. The room when I entered was smelling a bit. i believe it was because of the humidity. 2. Room wasn't updated and everything was clean but old. for the amount I paid I would expect a really good room 3. No lift which means you have to carry your items by yourself up the stairs. Although the reception person was helpful she helped me get my bag up as I had a baby with me.

the staff was quite helpful. Although it was hard to find the entrance to the hostel. The hostel is located on the main street of Venice beach and easy walk the area.

As it is located beside the busy venice street, it gets loud at night time, especially during weekends. Bit of an odd smell in the room, which we felt got onto our clothes.

Great location, great free breakfast, good laundry facilities. Nice and helpful staff- gave us information about the area and were friendly. Double deluxe room was spacious and comfortable.

I didnt like that it is heavily trafficked by homelessness.

The location was beautifully placed. I also enjoyed the convince of the placements of the stores and restaurants around and the view of the ocean.

I enjoyed my time at Venice Beach hostel. Easy accessible to the beach and to all the other festivities especially on the west side of LA. I’ve even extended my stay here due to the level of security and comfort I felt.

There was a DJ playing on the street below until late into the night. This could have been because of Labour Day weekend, but it was super loud and kept us awake. Also, I thought it was a little over-priced

I needed steady wifi that did not drop. All the guests noticed this for using their cell phones. There was no plastic ware to eat with, with limited metal silverware that was only hand washed by used sponges

We had a pretty decent and spacious private room. In principle nothing wrong with that. Location is perfect, right at the beach. However, 162 dollars for a hostel room is just plain wrong. Even though it was mentioned somewhere in the confirmation email, we overlooked the fact that the price did not include high taxes and a cleaning fee. While we understand that prices in LA are generally quite ridiculous, and it was our own fault that we did not read the email properly, in my opinion no hostel should charge that amount of money for a basic room. Although this is not really the hostel's fault, also be prepared for the fact that in the weekends, noise from the street and bars below is extremely loud (like 'I-really-need-some-earplugs' kind of loud. We live in Amsterdam, so we're used to city noise, but this was almost unbearable). The internet was quite rocky as well.

Lots of stairs. Exhausting after running on the beach all day. The neighborhood is very rowdy.

Unfortunately shared a room with 1 crazy girl. She locked herself out the room during the night and started screaming for someone to open the door. She was rude towards some other guests for not having English as their first language. The hostel in general has a bad smell. Not the cleanest stay, lots of dirty linen bags against the walls in the passages.

Location was good, Yoshi (manager) was friendly. Nice to hang out in common area and meet other traveller's. When I felt uncomfortable about sharing a room with a crazy girl, they were very accommodating to move me into a new room.
