The location was super convenient to go see the lava flow at night. The cabin has lush jungle-like surrounding ground and is well- kept. The whole place is very cute and comfortable; at night it’s cool and breezy. Our host was very friendly and helpful.

I liked it, but some people might not like the noisy frogs. But the owner provided ear plugs.

A cute cottage set in lovely gardens. Well equipped with everything you need. Nice and close to Volcano National Park.

Love love love this property. The owner is a very nice and kind lady. The cottage is clean, comfortable and has a beautiful garden. Very good location for visiting Volcanoes National Park and the price is good too. Too bad we stayed here for only 1 night. Definitely will stay here again next time .

A perfect location for exploring Volcanoes National Park. Such wonderful hosts. The property had everything we needed for our two night stay. The rainforest surrounding was superb. Would recommend this property to everyone.

Driving distance from other attractions

Beautiful cabin in a tropical rainforest only 5 miles from the Volcanos National Park. Owners were wonderful and helpful. I would definitely recommend this location especially if your main interests are the park.

The location and setting was exceptional. The property itself was wonderful, really well-equipped, clean and comfortable. There were lots of extra touches to make you feel welcomed too. Sue & Mike were incredibly friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate in recommending this place.

Everything was great…

Everything is taken care of - the property of about two cottages is maintained by a lovely husband & wife team, and they made sure we have a stay as perfect as could be. The rate is a bargain too!

The seclusion of the property was fabulous, and the proximity to volcanoes national Park was great.

The bathroom is rather snug, but it is what it is.

The location is quite close to the National Park and Susan gave us good tips on how to view the Kilauea crater at night to see the current eruption. Our first opportunity to see molten lava in person! She pointed out the cottage's plug-in LED flashlight, which really helped finding our way down the access road and path at night. Everything at the cottage was in good order and repair. Because of our limited schedule on the Island, I appreciated that we could rent the cottage for just one night, as many similar places have a three-night minimum. I wish we could have stayed longer, as there are plenty of things to see in the Volcano area. We also appreciated that it was cooler because of the near 4000' elevation, rather than the heat that is experienced at sea level.

Loved everything. I could not fault the place!

This cottage was the perfect getaway surrounded by beautiful Hawaiian tropical rainforests. It was a 10 minutes drive to Volcanoes National Park entrance. This made it very easy for us to go hiking during the day, go to the cottage for dinner and a rest and then come back to the park at night to watch the eruption and lava fountains. I found it majestic listening to the sounds of the rainforest at night such as frogs, other animals and the rain. But if that's not your style, the owners also provide ear plugs. The kitchen and BBQ facilities were great. If you have a car rental then stop for groceries at Foodland or another big supermarket on the way to Volcano. The owners are so accommodating and lovely with lots of helpful tips. They let us use their laundry facilities for free. This is honestly a rare find, highly recommend booking. The cottage really felt like a home away from home. Thank you Susan and Michael for a wonderful stay.

There was not anything that we disliked - we had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to stay here again!

The hosts were very thoughtful and had done a variety of things to ensure we had a comfortable stay, such as providing earplugs, small chocolates, coffee and kitchenware, and heated blankets for the bed. The property was also beautiful.
