How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

They went all over and beyond. Everyone was supper friendly. Location was walking distance to a lot of things. Definitely made our experience.

The Holoholo food was great ...but the service was slow and the restaurant to small to service the guests.

Your car will be covered in falling flowers! That’s literally the only problem you’ll encounter, if you can call that a problem.
We loved the entire aesthetic, the grounds were immaculate, the ocean view superb, the pools so beautiful and relaxing and with room for everyone, young families with kids, and older couples who wanted a peaceful swim, and everything in between. The walking paths were delightful. The staff were so kind and helpful and friendly. The suite was lovely and had everything we needed.

Very expensive compared to our stay in Maui. No kitchen spices, condiments or oils for basic cooking like on Maui. Small quantities of coffee for a 10 day stay. Too much plastic used for salt/pepper, coffee ,soap etc. they need to be more eco friendly. Also would like to see them provide points even though booked thru Booking. Com as it was very expensive.
Nice pools and pools for adults only.

Our very expensive room looked over a car park. Totally overpriced. We asked if we could move, understanding it was busy. They said they would try (on 2 occasions) and we never heard back. Silence for 10 days. No direct access to beach. Everything was more expensive than other places.

Extremely expensive. Plus everything was additional. No breakfast, no snorkels, every single thing was additional. Plus no beach front access from the property. Wouldn’t book again.

The bed could have been more supportive. We asked to switch rooms, which they were happy to do, and the other bed was better but still not great. Perhaps the mattresses need replacing. For a large, fancy resort, the restaurant could have been better too. There was only an outdoor dining room space, under an enclosure. The pool was amazing. They also offered us prompt shuttle service to the beach.

we ate all meals at the hotel and had food poisoning. it wrote off a day. The cost of everything in the area is ridiculous. $3.50 USD for an apple from the general store.

This was such a bad experience that we canceled our stay and had to pay a cancellation fee and rebooked to the Grand Hyatt in the middle of our trip. The hotel is not worth the price and we were so disappointed that we lost money and had to find a new hotel (the new hotel is worth every cent). They didn’t warn us about a marathon that the hotel was hosting which caused us to miss our helicopter. The staff was rude and dismissive. They told us to wait until we arrived to book everything when we called earlier this year and when we got there we couldn’t get a spa appointment. Everything was so disappointing and this was our honeymoon!!! .

I thought that it was over priced for such humble and small accommodations. I also felt that not having room service available at this type of price wasn’t desirable. waters and laundry detergent were in place for check in but should have been replenished throughout the stay. at $800 per night, with a poor view, they could try harder. I also think the pools should be open later as well as the restaurant.
property was moderately situated but there was no beach access. the staff was also friendly.

There was a lack of food --- just one restaurant that was so busy accommodating everyone. No simple extra cafes, and the food was super complex and pricey. There was a coffee/gift shop that had a crazy wait just to get coffee. They just needed more food services. Mixed messages regarding ride/shuttle to resort. Stressful. Lacked beach gear all the time -- snorkel, etc. Had to work with neighboring hotel instead. Staff so new -- not your fault, but... Scarce activities ----

We loved our room. Very neat, clean, and comfortable. It had everything we needed. Loved having a washer and dryer. The pool is amazing! We loved breakfast at the HoloHolo Grill.

beware of “island view” - our room faced the parking lot. required asking the staff a few times before getting help.

Studio room was small for the nightly rate, nothing special just a hotel room with a balcony overlooking the parking lot. Also there was only 1 restaurant on the property for both dine in and takeout and no room service. The property was across the street from the ocean with no beach access.
The resort pool and grounds were fabulous. Breathtaking view from the hotel lobby. Pool was wonderful to spend the whole day at with the family, plenty to do with water slides and an activity center where the kids purchased water toys and shave ice as an afternoon treat.
