Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt wasn’t as comfortable as I thought it would be and there was a stain on the carpet.
Great location! I was upgraded to a room with a ballpark view the day I arrived! Made the stay better!

United StatesOnly 1 negative - the shower has some "age" to it. Items like the shower door sweep looks old, some of the tile pieces under the curb, etc. Just think they didn't pick the best materials (like marble) for heavy usage like hotels.
The staff, room, location and amenities (bakery downstairs, coffee free, etc)

United StatesIt was nearly impossible to reach the front desk for early check in, the call was forwarded to the Marriott customer service center, where I had to be on hold for 30–40 minutes. And even then they couldn’t answer basic questions or help. I had to reach out to booking and only then where we able to get early check-in. It took quite a bit of time and caused unnecessary stress
Had amazing views, great location, drinks at the bar we’re a bit pricey but nonetheless delicious!

United StatesA little too expensive.
Our daughter, Alyssa wanted to surprise her dad for his 61st birthday. I purchased tickets for the Cubs game, my husband Ray does not really care to come to the city. Alyssa thought it would be so much easier staying at the Zachary hotel which is directly across from Wrigley Field, so her dad would not have to drive around there city. When I found out how much the room was I told her it was way too much for her to spend. I ended up using my miles. At check in, the guest registration was very very nice, she told us our room was upgraded for my husband's birthday. Ray was so excited when we arrived in our room. We both had a great time, beautiful room, Cubs won. Alyssa came to see the room after we had dinner, to see the look on her and her dad's face was greatly treasured. Thank you

United StatesThis is a new hotel in Chicago. I did not know it was a Marriott hotel or else I could have earned some points! Staff was very pleasant. It is very clean and the room is a good size. Slept well... They also did not say that coffee is free for guests at the coffee place downstairs. Sad to say, they close at noon!! I am not sure if that place is affiliated with the hotel but, that is so bizarre. I would expect breakfast places stay open till 2 or 3 pm. At any rate, the hotel is really nice. Although a little expensive, it is still a good place to stay.

United StatesEverything about our experience with the hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location couldn't have been better as we were traveling to Chicago solely to visit Wrigley Field. Inside the hotel the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean. We stayed in 4 different hotels on this trip to and from Chicago, and the Zachary was a mile above the rest.

United StatesI love everything about this hotel! It's a very nice place to stay and it's dog friendly! The bar/restaurant is great and the patio area allows dogs. We used the valet service for our car and it was fast and easy. We love the little ice bags instead of a noisy ice machine. The area around the hotel has plenty of restaurants and is safe. We always stay here when we go to a Cubs game. The hotel has the best view of Wrigley Field. I ran down to the Lakefront Trail one morning and it was so nice to run along the lake front.
