Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe cost of the boat trip and motorbike transfer were a little more expensive than I would usually expect but other than that there are no issues - I’ll be recommending this homestay to others!
Lovely family run homestay with lots of activities to do! We felt super welcome and happy to be there. Food was incredible and the boat trip was very fun. Tent was comfortable and had electricity and a fan included. The outdoor shower was lovely and the hammocks dotted around the place were nice peaceful spots to chill. Bike rental was great too, nice to see the local spots by bike and meet some of the locals. Amy and Hieu are amazing and were super helpful from before our stay and all the way throughout.

My and her husband are so friendly and helpful. My explains a lot of things you never know before. After your stay you will know how the family live in the South of Vietnam. They live self-sufficient and you can learn a lot from them. The bathroom is outdoors. There is plenty of space. Yoga mats are available. Lots of hammocks to chill in.

ThailandThe only concerning thing is waste management. All the water from the bathrooms goes to a little canal in the middle of the property. Which causes some smell. This will surely become a big problem in the future. Hope they consider building septic tanks.
The best homestay/ hostel I've ever stayed at! I was planning to stay 1 night, but extended it to 3 and wanted to stay longer. Why? You are completely immersed in a local and beautiful environment, you meet and befriend the most amazing travelers on the daily dinners, and your day can be filled with activities or just relaxing. I cycled to the chocolate factory with a few travelers one day, the next I did the homestay tour, and a couple times just cycled around the area. The tent was not as hot as I expected at night, and I had a great sleep. Lastly, Amy, the owner, is an absolute boss and the most hardworking! Overall a magical experience and a highlight of my Vietnam trip!

CanadaI wouldn't change a thing!
Wow!! What a special spot. After three months in Vietnam this was my favourite homestay experience. It's a very well-run and organized homestay, that also feels quite relaxed and informal. It's a family-run homestay, and Ms Amy and Mr Hieu are incredible people - so kind, warm, funny, and interesting. Meals were delicious, and had good variety. They were able to accommodate a vegan diet (though double check about each dish at mealtime). I enjoyed the family-style format, and loved the you could join in and learn from the cooking. Free water refills. Transportation from the bus stop to the hostel, lunches, and dinner, and beers were all reasonably priced. The river activity/excursion was a BLAST and excellent value. Activities and famil-style meals and common spaces mean lot of opportunities to connect with the family and with other travellers. The free bikes were in decent shape (nothing fancy needed since the area is flat and the roads are good). Accomodations and facilities are rustic but tidy and well kept. Cool to see traditional building styles. Dorms only four beds in a room so pretty quiet. Bed was clean and comfortable. A few sweet dogs and cats around. The surrounding community is peaceful and the coconut tree farms are beautiful.

Czech RepublicWe had an amazing stay, one of our best. Amy is very nice and friendly. the Mekong boat trip with Amy is absolutely amazing, definitely not to be missed. It is not a classic tourist tour, but a real experience where you will learn a lot. Cooking and processing coconuts together is also great. And the food is delicious. Thanks Amy for these experiences.

SwitzerlandThe cat can suprise you during the night;)
It is a real homestay, there are three generations living or working there. Every day there is a workshop like making coconut oil or rice crêpes, in which you can participate. For the meals you sit around a long table with all other travellers and you can exchange travel and life experiences. I really appreciated the meals with other people as a solo traveller. The building material is local, the food and the recipes are local. I spent three great days.

VietnamIt would be nice that the showers and toilets facilities were a bit more private. The walls are built with tree parts, so there are some gaps that could be patched.

SwedenI can’t say that I found anything negative, everything is clean, the bed is comfortable enough and has a mosquito net.
It is a very chill but social place where you get a small insight to the local life in the delta. The owners and workers are extremely friendly and funny and you will have a great time here. I highly recommend doing their boat tour, had an amazing day! Oh and the food is some of the best you will ever have, great for vegetarians! They also have a filtered water tap so you don’t need to worry about that.
