Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe didn’t find many restaurants geared toward tourists nearby. Our stay was in late April which may be the reason.
Ha Giang Historic House was nice and very clean. The owner was also very attentive. We stayed here for one night before a motorcycle loop trip and one night after.

United StatesNothing! We loved it all
We loved so much about the property. Huyen, the owner went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. She prepared excellent food for us for breakfast and dinner. The location is superb, it’s nestled against the hill and away from the busy streets. There is a walking trail up the hill behind the property to take in a view of the town and surrounding mountains. It was the perfect place to spend time before and after our motorbike tour.

The woman running Historic House is a gem—super helpful and very sweet. After traveling hard for a couple weeks, we needed a place to rest for a couple days and this was perfect. Super cute and comfortable room, great breakfast, incredible coffee.

Great location with beautiful views. The place is well kept and the breakfast was the best we had in all Vietnam. Also, I suggest you try the pizza at the restaurant (I'm from Italy and LOVED it). The owner was extremely helpful in organising private tours of Ha Giang with our limited time, but be careful with pricing, the lady is a hustler ;)

We loved the historic and quiet atmosphere and accommodations. Owner was very helpful in arranging transport to town and did our pile of laundry after four days of being on the Ha Giang Loop. We stayed there before and after and both times had a lovely room. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed the two small dogs who live there. It was peaceful and quiet with lovely landscape and a great path to hike with a view of the city and probably sunset. We’d definitely stay here again if we return to Ha Giang.

GermanyThe shower heater wasn’t on…so explanation was missing and patience was needed. Owner was very noisy cracking stoned at 7am for a wall…. Bit early.
Located within 10 min walk to restaurants and river. Quiet environment back from the street. Beds are softer than usual in Vietnam.Breakfast ist good.

Absolutely loved my time here, the hotel is a very peaceful place to stay. Huyen, the owner is fantastic and welcomed me as if I were her own family. She organised a private tour of the ha Giang loop for me at a good price and also sorted my onward bus ticket. Rooms are clean and cosy, and it's only a short walk into the centre. Plus there is pizza, a pool table and 2 very adorable dogs! The downsides... There are none! I very much recommend staying here if passing through Ha Giang. Thank you again to Huyen and your wonderful family.

United StatesThe bed was just a little hard for me but the pillows were great!
The grounds are beautiful and the little hike up the mountain in the back is awesome! They went above and beyond for us and (judging by the other reviews) that is their standard. They were very friendly and accommodating, quick and affordable laundry, great food, and organized an amazing 20 km hike and tour for us through villages, farms, and rice paddies. Their two little dogs are friendly and always made me smile when we’d come back.

I had an exceptional stay at the Historic House in Ha Giang. Mrs. Huyen, the owner, provided impeccable service and valuable advice for organizing the Ha Giang Loop. The provision of a brand-new mountain bike was a unique and appreciated touch. The assistance in arranging transportation throughout the journey was invaluable. The spacious, clean rooms and delightful pizza added to the overall comfort. The Ha Giang Loop itself was a truly remarkable experience, guided by the excellent Tinh. His safe and knowledgeable approach, along with a good sense of humor, made the journey unforgettable. Tinh wisely chose scenic routes for cycling, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the adventure. Highly recommend this hotel and tourguide Tinh for a fantastic Ha Giang experience.

United StatesOur stay at Ha Giang historic house was amazing and we would highly recommend staying here if you plan to visit Ha Giang. The room was great with a comfortable bed, hot shower, and good AC. The location is just out of town but close to where we rented a bike for the loop. We actually stayed here at the start and end of doing the loop which worked out perfect because we were able to do laundry right away and again at the end before we went back to Hanoi. It was extremely convenient and Huyen helped us make any arrangements we needed, like a taxi and bus back to Hanoi. Huyen made us feel so welcomed and her entire family was so kind - our stay was more than just a room it was an experience as they invited us to their family dinner of traditional Vietnamese food and even to a tea ceremony in their unique tea room with a rare aged tea. What a cool experience!! They also spoke and understood English which was not as common as we thought when visiting Vietnam. Can’t say enough positive things - definitely stay here if you get the chance.
