The location is perfect, just in middle of the old town. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and clean. Owner of the hostel is probably the most friendly host I ever encountered on my trips. We used this hotel as a base for visiting other parts of Northern Vietnam. I highly recommend this place!

I had a wonderfully relaxing time at this cute hotel! Thomas who works there is extremely friendly, communicates perfectly in English and has accommodated me with every little thing I needed - from arranging my airport pick up, to helping me with my heavy luggage up the stairs in the middle of the night, to sorting my internet SIM, lending me travel guides and giving great restaurant recommendations. The hotel location is ideal - within walking distance of everything in the Old Quarter, but on a slightly quieter street - so my stay was really peaceful and convenient. It is also very close to a grocery store that is open 24h and to some culinary highlights of the area (including the popular Banh Mi 25). You can buy water, local SIM cards and book day trips directly from the reception. I am really grateful to Thomas and the rest of the staff for making me feel so welcome and looked out for on my solo trip to Hanoi. I will definitely be choosing this accommodation again the next time I visit!

Saw a few small ants in the room (wasn’t really a problem).

Good location. The room felt spacious. The bathroom has a small window (in windowless room), which makes things much better in terms of light / ventilation. The front desk (maybe he’s the owner?) seemed very friendly and would chat freely if you’re into that sort of social engagement. While booking I was a bit hesitant of location (it’s sort of on the side of old quarter), but that wasn’t an issue at all. It’s nice busy streets with blooming trees.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave good tips about local restaurants etc. You can also book different tours from them. The location is just perfect in the old quarter close to the main attractions eg. Train street, beer street, Ho Chi Min Mausoleum etc. The room was spacious and clean and the AC was very good. Wifi worked very well and was fast. Good value for money.

Absolutely loved staying here. Thomas who runs the hotel is one of the most genuine people you could ever meet. As a solo female traveller I felt so at home and safe here. Rooms are comfortable and clean and it's right by the night market, and main restaurants/cafes etc. I was able to walk everywhere comfortably. Thomas went above and beyond and always made sure I was looked after. He also booked all my trips for me so all I had to do was show up! Such a lovely family run place!

We arrived late (2am) and were still able to check in to our room without any issues. We stayed there for 3 nights and Thomas was always around to greet us and make friendly conversation. He also arranged bus transfers and airport transportation on our behalf. Rooms were clean and fresh towels were provided without having to ask. I can't wait to return to Hanoi and stay at Moonlight again!

Traffic of Hanoi but thats not the fault of this hotel

Hotel is located directly in the old quarter district. A lot of cafes an md restaurants around. The best thing about this place is the owner who helped us with everything. Thanks again you are a wonderful human being stay as you are.

very comfortable accommodations and the location is INCREDIBLE! also, thomas was a great hostess and so welcoming! he went above and beyond helping us plan all the tours we wanted to do in a very short time we had in vietnam. everything from transfers, accommodations, guided tours and recommendations were flawless and we were very happy with the service in the hotel. I highly recommend him as a travel agent as well.

The rooms are a good size with clean and comfortable beds and all the essentials you need such as air conditioning, hot shower, towels, and tea and coffee. The hostel is in a great location and is reasonably priced compared to other options in the local area! The manager, Thomas, is excellent. He is available night and day and will do everything he can to help, he booked us onto a Ha Giang Loop tour at a very reasonable price and was a really friendly and welcoming person on our first day in Hanoi!

Thomas is a legend! He was super friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. He organised us a fantastic trip to Cat Ba (with a very decently priced boat trip), as well as transport to our next destinations. The rooms are spacious and clean, with all the furnishings you need. The location is perfect - right in the heart of the old quarter, within walking distance to everything.
