Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location is perfect. Breakfast is good. Internet fast. The staff made our trip. Receptionists and staff in the restaurant were the best. We stayed in different hotels during our trip and I can say that 100% this hotel is the best. By the way they are kids friendly. Extremly helpful. They take care of you every moment, they will ask kitchen about other dishes if u can't eat buffet, they will bring u tea if u re working in a lobby, they will translate for u whatever u need.

TaiwanA very minor one is that the hair conditioner smells like rubber to me.
- Prompt responses from the hotel for all the messages/inquiries from me - Reliable airport shuttle service - Courteous staff in general, providing helpful information around the neighbourhood - Flexibility in payment method - Great facilities in the room (fridge, electric kettles, 1L water, coffee, tea, bath robes, desk, reading light) with clear guidelines on what is complimentary and what requires additional charge - Air-con works perfectly well - A quiet place in the bustling old town of Ha Noi - Walking distance to a handful of attractions and famous eating places - Breakfast is superb with a great variety (We stayed two nights, and the buffet dishes were different from the first morning)

United StatesThere is no alcohol available at the hotel! There is a bar that us used for decoration only - very odd. Needs some updating overall.
The location was superb and could not be beat. We were in the middle of the Old Quarter basically across the street from the lake. Walking everywhere was easy and close. Staff were very helpful. Rooms were old but okay. Not an abundance of plugs. Full closet and room to unpack. Lighting in the bath was poor. They gave me a room I could walk up stairs to as I don't like old small elevators.

United KingdomAbout my only criticism of the stay was that the room was a little dark, and could have done with more light. I found it a little tiring to pack and unpack my bags when I can't really see very clearly.
Hotel location was excellent. Staff were uniformly excellent and very helpful. Breakfast was pretty good, Room was pretty good. VFM was pretty good too.

SerbiaThe rooms could be slightly updated and refurbished, but they are still quite good.
Great location - in the center, but in a quiet(er) street; the street is closed for traffic on weekends which is even better; good restaurants near by You could arrange almost anything at the hotel - day trips, rent a scooter, exchange money, get a taxi from/to the airport etc. Amazing and helpful staff - gave us a map of the city and gave us tips on where to go, where to eat, what to try; answered all of our questions and helped with general tips regarding Hanoi and the area (e.g. which Ninh Binh tour is the best for this time of year); gave us a goodbye gift as well :)

United KingdomLots of choices in Hanoi, but hard to know which listings to trust. Imperial was an amazing hotel. The staff were so friendly and always went the extra mile (for example they even contacted the tour providers we had booked ourselves to make sure all arranged okay). They gave us lots of useful advice, the room was great and they let us leave our bags at the hotel whilst we travelled to other nearby areas. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

SingaporeProvide iron & ironing board in room. Have halal option for breakfast perhaps.
The hotel was located right in the smack of Old quarters, yet tucked away in a corner. It's just a few mins walk to the Hoàn Kiếm Lake. Message centers/shops were all around. Breakfast was decent, though I only had it on the first day, as there were no halal options. Had to rely on bread/cereals. Apart from that, everything was decent and good. Staff spoke decent English, so there was hardly any language barrier. They were most welcoming from check-in to check-out. Kudos to that. For room facilities, everything was well equipped - with the exception of Iron & ironing board. I didn't ask for them, but you could probably request them from the housekeeping. The room I had, had a slight humming noise (could be from the aircon/fridge?), it came and went, but not to an extent where you couldn't get a good night's sleep. No problem for grab/grab-bike to come to your hotel for pickups, but do note that the roads leading up to the hotel may be closed on weekends, so you probably need to drop off slightly outside, then walk in (not that far anyways). Overall i had a good stay and would definitely recommend friends and families if they are ever coming to Hanoi!

NetherlandsThe place is very lovely, the location couldn’t be any better, you can just walk anywhere in the old quarter from this hotel. The rooms were clean, everything worked well and the staff were the highlight, they made our trip very easy, they took care of every single detail, from early checkin to laundry, contacting tour operators, preparing our breakfast to-go & a lot more. I would really recommend staying here if you want to ensure you can focus on your trip itself and have everything else figured out for you.

This was a return visit to the hotel. We stayed for 2 non consecutive nights as we were doing the Halong Bay cruise. The 1st night we had an upgraded room which was large and with a window. The room was spacious and comfortable. The 2nd night we had a room without a window (this was known beforehand) on level 2. It was very dark obviously no natural light and it was located on the landing where the store room was (sheets, towels etc) and as staff were coming and going there was a little noise from time to time. Basically the room was what we ordered and it was fine for one night, but if you are staying for more than 1 night you may wish to consider booking a room with a window. Breakfast excellent. Reception staff excellent. A high quality hotel right in old town about 10 minute walk from the lake.
