Maintenance is quite poor, and the service leaves much to be desired - it's the only place with unsmiling and unfriendly staff we came across in Vietnam so far. We're not going back here for sure. There's only one small lift which takes ages to move, and in general service for anything at all is very slow. The breakfast is at the next door restaurant, which closes half an hour before the designated time and the staff can't wait to shoo people out. Also, the suite my parents were in suddenly developed a bad smell in the bedroom AC in the middle of the night.

The location is awesome. Right in front of the river, very convenient for walking around, taking a cruise, going to the Opera House etc. The rooms are huge with colonial-styled furniture. We liked the property itself a lot.

Great location, just across the road from the river. Loved the ambiance of the outside building, very French. The suite overlooked the river and was huge. Good value for money. Loved the 4th floor bar to sit and have a drink and take in the view.

Okay location, the breakfast was adequate. The staff were helpful I think it was overpriced, I think they charge more because its on the riverside. And the wasn't a safety box in my room when on the website it states safety boxes in rooms. Maybe it should say safety boxes in some rooms.

the place needs a major renovation.

The location is fantastic, the staff are friendly. The place is quite old and the rooms and interiors seem quite tired. It will turn over to government by next year as it will have the status of historical building (120 years old) so we guess current operator made no further improvements on the property.

The attitude of the manager who checked us in and not knowing the room didn't have a window.

Originally booked a room that displayed a window, discovered the room type was a windowless room, Please ensure you ask if your room has a window, The was a little rude and a smart ar*e. We had to pay to upgrade. Eventually our rooms were great.

Prime location, couldn't ask for more. The room i stayed was riverside facing, so loved it. Breakfast was just ok. Staffs were good. Every floor had a smoking corner with river facing. the only problem was i could hear the conversation and tv sounds from the next adjoining room. I wish they had better sound proofig walls or structure. But overall it was good!

The older shower & sink plumbing should be upgraded but the basic structure of the building is becoming much rarer in HVMC & it's nice to have some reminders of the past.

Great location in District One on the river. Classic old French Hotel with a roof top bar over looking the river promenade. Breakfast & coffee were tasty & staff were excellent. Rooms are quite large compared to the average these days.

Bed too hard for me, the hotel could be a 5 star heritage hotel if it was renovated - new carpets, improved lighting, new bathrooms etc. I enjoyed my stay but I can see why this hotel doesn't get higher scores

Great Riverside location and our room overlooking the Saigon river. The hotel has much old character and I love the old wood doors and facade. Rooftop bar is a must to take a cocktail overlooking the river.

There is not much in the way of facilities, no room service as far as I could tell and no guide in the room as to what the facilities are and where they are located. Would be nice to have some more pork free choices available for breakfast but otherwise ok. Great coffee!

Great location! Had a 2nd floor river view room. Very spacious - a bit old world with the Queen Anne furniture but very comfortable and quiet with the double glazing despite the busy street below. Enjoyed my stay there.

Some of the rooms are inside rooms without a view and the motorbikes were on the pavement so every time you leave the hotel you are in a sea of motorbikes. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Good location on the river with a roof terrace bar got a fresh omelette for breakfast every morning which was very nice. The concierge was helpful

Location is great. Hotel overlooks river so if you have a river view room it is great. Staff very helpful. Rooms are clean. Good breakfast selection.

Since I had booked a room without a view, I didn't expect a balcony, however there were no windows at all in the room. The reception staff were not very friendly at check in and during the stay, although the bell boy was quite helpful and pleasant.

The hotel is situated quite centrally which makes it quite convenient to walk to most of the major tourist attractions in the city. The breakfast buffet had quite a good spread. The room was quite large and spacious.

Good value accommodation in a great location overlooking the Saigon River. Comfortable room and very nice breakfast.
