How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It was all good
The staff are so friendly and helpful. It’s located in a great area inside the Old Quarter. The pool area is enjoyable and has a happy hour with good cocktails. Daff arranged our transportation for an overnight trip to Ninh Binh which was great. The breakfast is good too

The staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms on the smaller side but still very functional. Location in old quarter superb. Walking distance to markets and train street. Good selection of places to eat nearby and a circle K not too far for supplies. Pool is in rooftop with a good view but on warmer days can get busy and it is only small, but again still a good way to cool off or relax. Best of all it is open 24/7. Thank you San Palace for a great stay.

Rooms are a little dated. Mainly the bathrooms I found to be the worst. The wifi is very limited depending where you are in your room.
The staff were amazing. Daff helped with the bookings we requested and made it so easy. Gina was always helpful and pleasant also. All.rhe staff were very helpful.

Sky Bar happy hour, was buy 2 get 1 free, which for 2 people is a bit awkward. If it was just a third discount we probably would have bought more.

The hotel is well located in Hanoi, almost the midpoint of old cathedral and the train street, two major landmarks in the town. The rooms are good, the breakfast is decent and the rooftop pool/bar area, while a bit small, provides a great opportunity to unwind after a long day of walking. Excellent value for money.

We had an issue with our TV in the room. We had the concierge in the room to fix it and he had to call a tech who also attended promptly but the issue was never fixed. We did have another stay in the hotel after visiting Ha Long bay and the TV in that room worked fine.
Breakfast was sufficient but not a lot of choice. The staff are very helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to make your stay a positive experience

The room was comfortable but a little small with no windows. It was clean and secure though.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location in the old quarter, near to lots of restaurants, train street and around a ten minute walk to the centre. We had an early flight on the day that we left and the hotel made us a takeaway breakfast for the airport! Happy hour in the roof top bar was also a nice way to end the day!

Excellent Stay at San Palace Hotel I recently stayed at the San Palace Hotel and had a fantastic experience. From the moment I checked in, the service was impeccable. Jerry, at the front desk, was particularly outstanding. He ensured a smooth check-in and provided great recommendations for local attractions. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with modern amenities. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a wide variety of options. The hotel’s location is perfect, close to major attractions and public transport. Overall, the exceptional service, especially from Jerry, made my stay at San Palace Hotel truly enjoyable. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting the city.

Very comfy beds and great Air conditioning. Room was very well decorated and clean. Jerry was very helpful on reception this morning. And a very friendly person. Also Tracy made me feel welcome when I checked in the day before. Will be returning.
