How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The first room we had unfortunately had roosters from a neighbouring building crowing at 3am and didn't stop. But when we asked for a change of rooms, the staff went out of their way to find us another room which made our stay very pleasant.
The breakfast at Peridot was exceptional and the service from staff wonderful.

The rooftop pool area can be very crowded and some guests block beds despite not being around.
We had an excellent stay. It is surely not the cheapest option in Hanoi, but we got great value for money in terms of location, extremely friendly staff, great room size and facilities, excellent breakfast, rooftop bar, gym…

Excelent stay in the city. Very close to train caffes and easy walk to the heart of old quarter. Hotel worth of 5stars services. Big room, good beds, quiet room, quiet area, excellent and very rich breakfast buffet and outside pool are things to truly enjoy.

Size of rooms and need updating
In the old town close to the markets. The facilities are great though the rooms are a little dated and small. Very nice breakfast and very friendly staff.

The blackout curtains in the room were great, however, the only problem is that the air con controls are right by the bed, when it is on a very bright LED light illuminates the room making it difficult to sleep. The choice was either sweat in the dark or be comfortable in the green light. I spoke to the manager the next day and they shared that other guests have reported the same issue and their solution is to tape over the light. Just a bit of a design issue and I hope they fix this as otherwise this was a lovely stay and would return should I need to revisit this part of Hanoi again.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was exceptional - really great choice, from local specialities, to Japanese sushi, European breads amazing tropical fruits.

The smell in the alley to the hotel. And maybe the location of the hotel is quite to far from the lake. I like the hectic for one or two days, but if you stay longer you will be annoyed about the total hectic area here
The nice chique atmosphere in the buzzling old quarter of Hanoi. The rooftop bar and restaurant are nice. The front desk have arranged rental bike for me with no additional cost. That is very nice of them. Also the hidden gem feel is very nice.

There was no problems we found with this hotel.
Able to walk to most sites from the hotel in a reasonable time. The staff where incredibly helpful, check in was really easy and well organised. Rooms where lovely and spacious. The hotel surpassed our expectations. We would stay there again. Pool and rooftop restaurant was great.

The location is superb, right in the center of the city. Everyone is very nice and helpful. My room was right near the elevator so it was a bit noisy. But the pool on the roof was amazing.

The property was immaculate - certainly staying there again when I visit Hanoi. The breakfast was fantastic - one of the best and the rooftop bar is beautiful. The rooms, ensuite was all amazing - loved loved loved everything abt the boutique luxury hotel.
