Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesMy only suggestion would be to have larger amounts of water and juice available at breakfast since the bottles of water and juice kept running out. The staff would refill the bottles and they would quickly run out again. Also self service coffee would be appreciated so you can have an extra cup or 2 of coffee if wanted.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tam Coc Garden Resort. The grounds are beautiful with tropical plants all over the grounds, and views of the mountains and rice fields. The pool is absolutely breathtaking. We spent lots of time there. The pool in July was warm, not particularly refreshing, but we still loved it anyway. Sometimes we had the pool to ourselves. The pool is even more beautiful than the photos. The location of the resort is great. Just outside the town. We used the free bikes to go into Tam Coc for dinner and visit Binh Dong pagoda. The staff was amazing with great English, and very helpful with getting us last minute taxis, and private drivers for excursions around the area. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help with anything you might need. The resort provided a detailed brochure with all the local attractions and distances from the resort which helped us plan our days. We ate dinner at the restaurant one night and were very pleased with the service and food. Breakfast was great. Lots of self service items plus dishes such as waffles and egg dishes you can order off a menu. Specialty coffee such as a latte or cappuchino was available to order.

CanadaThe food was not good and service could’ve been better. The room checkout time according to my reservation was noon, but I was told at the reception that it was 11am. There was a bit of a gap in communication at a few places. The price didn’t feel justified.
The house is very well decorated. It is an isolated property with amazing views and beautiful warm water swimming pool. They very generously provide a jeep and bikes to commute between room and reception.

United KingdomYou do have to get on a bike or get a taxi if you want to go into the Town
My partner and I wanted a place where we could relax by the pool while also having the opportunity to explore the area, and this was the perfect place. The pool was clean, the rooms were excellent, and the staff was attentive. A great place to go if you are willing to spend a little extra.

New ZealandSadly the insects. I covered with bug spray slept with a net and also burnt a coil each night but I still leave with many bites. Not the resorts fault you camp next to water and rice fields what are you to expect.
I appreciated the efforts that went into making those resort authentic. Down to the hand made pottery, the cross stitching and the bed time stories.

BulgariaThe water in the pool was so hot. I requested transfer from Hanoi airport and also a child seat for the car. The seat provided was a joke and practically not secure at all.
The location is very peaceful and dreamy, the rooms are very well decorated and it was a great place to spend the first days from our trip to Vietnam. The food in the restaurant is also very nice and they managed to offer us vegan alternatives.

United StatesStayed here for 2 nights and loved every minute. Aside from the sublime, peaceful mountain valley location, surrounded by rice fields, everything is so incredibly charming and well-considered. Impeccably designed facilities, state of the art Japanese toilet and roomy bath with a view, all the staff are so chic in their uniforms. Loved the little poolside hut that served drinks on a quaint patio. Everything you imagine a holiday to look like.

AustraliaThese are very small things but: the bikes need a bit of servicing. We felt the Vietnamese dishes were a lot nicer than the western ones. I know it is hard to please everyone but would have loved to see more of the authentic Vietnamese.food/drinks on the menu, Vietnamese coffee for breakfast for example. This hotel is expensive compared to any other hotel we stayed in however on balance I felt the nightly room rate was reflective of the standard of the property and service. Lastly - this is absolutely not the hotel’s fault but we were sad to experience on several occasions that guests were extremely rude to the staff. The hotel seems to attract mainly European guests some of whom feel it is ok to shout at, speak down to and belittle staff whilst being generally rude and obnoxious. I thought the staff were saints in dealing with this but it makes me sad that there are such ignorant people travelling the world in this day and age.
We loved the bungalow, from the decor, to the facilities, the comfortable bed, the amenities and the view. The swimming pool was great with plenty of sun loungers. The bar served the best cocktails of our trip. The breakfast was nice and plentiful. We enjoyed riding the bikes around to all the local sights. We also took up the offer of fishing from our terrace, which was great fun - we caught a few fish. What really makes this property unique however are the delightful staff - every single staff member was friendly, eager to help and understand and charming. They employ local people and help them to learn English/French as well as hospitality skills. We met a couple in Tam Coc town who had been trained at the resort and then went on to run their own business. We felt welcome and happy from the moment we arrived.
