Food is a huge minus. The restaurant is very poor, not on the level of such beautiful resort at all. Menu is vastly overpriced and the food and drinks are not even tasty. Using supermarket dough for pizza in a four star resort, really? Hoping that the resort can hire a good chef and create better menu. The second swimming pool was closed down for some reason, it was a little upsetting, because it looked very nice. If you position yourself as an eco resort, you might want to rethink giving 0.5 plastic bottles of water. First of all 0.5 is not sufficient for a person in such hot climate, daily consumption is 2 liters. Second of all it’s very easy to invest in glass or ceramic jars 🫙 and refill them. Eco friendly.

Very beautiful peaceful resort with lots of trees, flowers. The swimming pool by the beach is amazing too. There are free kayaks on the beach. There is also kids room and spa center available. The rooms are amazing, the interior designer and architect did great job!

Almost no sandy beach left (removed to be used in construction?), no snack bar/kiosk/place to buy anything except in the restaurant, expensive food/drinks (57k for 500ml water), very limited English spoken by staff, some areas of resort not open, nothing in walking distance.

That the pool bar was not open, and there were limited options for dining or a more extensive menu. More proactive staff in the open area's tending to guests.

The resort was tired, unfortunately it is in need of some upgrades by way of general maintenance. Much like many other hotels I have recently stayed at, the absence of patrons and revenue for two years has hurt this place. This place would have been awesome in its hay day.

No Pool bar staff. Swim up pool bar closed. Bedroom pillows smell of head sweat. Bedrooms a bit tired and large bath only had cold running water.

With the advent of COVID a lot of facilities in most hotels are unavailable. Which is completely understandable, but certain communication was missing. However, the resort Manager and the customer service manager have since corrected this. The automated email upon booking now sets the right expectations.

To be noted that I am a returning customer to this resort because of the awesome location and great food. The resort opened only recently after the long COVID lockdown. Given that the staff still did whatever they could to make the stay pleasant and memorable. There were some hiccups on the first day of our stay but the staff was willing to rectify and they did a splendid job. They also helped to plan with birthday decorations and cake for my better half. Great job at customer service.

Standard, cleanliness and location. The hotel is quite remote. The hotel is older than appears in the pictures and is showing serious signs of wear and tear and lack of maintenance. Cleanliness and service in restaurant leave a lot to be desired. This is definitely not 5 star quality.

Well where do I start , I loved this place and all the staff, the buffet breakfast was fantastic, the restaurant was great as well, I have read all the negative reviews, and yes I agree with some of them, ok it’s not a 5 star hotel/resort anymore, in its day and probably before COVID it was a lot better, as we all know COVID knocked everyone around, a lot of businesses here in a Australia never came back from the loss of income, I think in time this place will recover as well, I seen the 2nd pool as well at this place, closed off for renovations, who cares the main pool near the restaurant and the beach is fantastic, and has a swim up bar, great to watch the sunset as well, yes it’s a little bit out of town, but it’s beautiful and quiet there and that’s the difference,but it’s cheap in a grab or taxi to get to town, the front desk can organise it easy for you , this place is massive, I stayed in a fantastic room overlooking the restaurant/pool/bar and facing the ocean with a balcony, it was great to sit up there and relax while having a beer, so to sum things up, yes I loved this place and I would definitely recommend it, and with more tourists coming back now after COVID, hopefully it can return to a 5 star Resort again, thanks again to all the great staff there who made our trip there amazing 👍👍👍

Don’t order room service- we orders 3 x lunches, a pool service for drinks and late check out and had come to $300AUD bill, not good enough for price we had already paid.

We loved absolutely everything about this place except one thing which is stated below. Rooms were amazing and comfortable, I’m unsure why people complain about this place. We’ve been to many hotels and this was definitely up there!! Customer service was awesome and fast. Cot was available for our baby.

On our arrival: no minibar at the room (fixed by hotel quickly), the side table is broken (didn’t fix during our stay); 50 sqm room- the wardrobe place is very limited The breakfast is quite ok, but the restaurant’s ratio price / quality is not at the top

Staff and server’s was professional for 99%. Which was one of our highlights of our stay, the views looking out to the ocean were superb! It will be interesting to see the resort at a fuller capacity with only one pool available. For its age the resort should be rated at 3 Stars. Our smoke detectors in our room didn’t seem to be working. No carbon monoxide detectors in rooms. No wheel chair access. Stairs are an issue getting to the restaurant with my bad hip. Floors and bath tubs could use a good polish to remove stains. No bed side tables. Power points well worn chargers wouldn’t stay plugged in. No USB charging ports. Television reception is terrible no Netflix or internet connection. Wi-Fi has no password, I’m sure internet hackers would have a ball downloading all of your personal information. The bottles of water supplied must be the smallest you can buy. I experienced a waiter coughing over the breakfast buffet which totally turned us off our breakfast. The resort is only 10 years old built in 2014, it’s lacking some major maintenance. I’m assuming it was left to run down dilapidated over Covid and probably will never recover. Compared to old photos half the beach is filled in with rocks now with a collapsed retaining wall. Beach seems to have a lot of pollution floating around. Food and drinks prices are extremely over priced. To Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Tran Minh Chi of Tran Thai Group, I would highly recommend sending senior management staff out to The Shells Resort & Spa urgently to see first hand what maintenance is required.

View from our room and the pool were fantastic, staff all round were professional apart from 1 waiter requiring food handling hygiene training.
