The hosts were extremely helpful and kind. They even offered us a free upgrade because we stayed for longer days. The beds were also really nice. We had the best nap there.

Good, suitable breakfast included in price and easy access to train and bus. The hosts were lovely and went out of their way to help and were very easy going. I was unwell and they assisted in every way possible to assist me. Easy to hire bikes. They allowed us to check in early and upgraded our room. They also allowed us to hang around and store bags as we left later at night. Very genuine people. All in all very pleasant stay and would stay again.

Unfortunately the lake in front of the hotel is under construction so it was kinda hard to get to the hotel. We still had places to park the car though ☺️

This place was wonderful, a bit old-fashioned but really comfortable. The lovely hosts helped us a lot in finding where to eat or what to do. They can talk in English, not much but enough to guide you somewhere to play.

This is NOT something I don't like but had to fill it in for review - more of a heads up. Everyone was super nice in these parts but please don't expect many of them to speak English if you don't speak Vietnamese ;) I managed to buy a ticket because the (very sharp!) person at the station must have met many tourists who can barely say thank you in Vietnamese. We got along with pen and paper. Handy tip. Otherwise, loved the people here - friendly bunch. If you're asked if you want a ride while walking always gently say / sign no thank you if you don't need one...always. They only ask once.

The owners were great and very helpful. We communicated in English 😃 Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty and filling. I needed to be next to station (Ga Ninh Binh) so location was ideal. Owner also rents bikes and motorcycles for good reason, it really is a great way to enjoy this part of the world.

Location was a little bit out of the way but not a big deal with a bike!

The staff were extremely helpful. We got upgraded to a fabulous room with a balcony and so much space. We got our laundry done and rented a bike and we were provided with rain coats! Breakfast was good and had good choice. Had a great stay here :)

It’s not in Cat Ba so be aware you will need a scooter to get around (but they have cheap rental). Ninh binh itself also has beautiful places to explore, restaurants and temples !

We stayed for 3days to explore the region and the owners kindly gave us a room upgrade for free, we also had free breakfast and they rent scooters, perfect to explore the surroundings! Breakfast is so good as they let you pick up something from a menu and cook it directly for you :) they also gave us our breakfast to take away in the last day as we didn’t have much time

Lovely and helpful hosts. Good location relatively close to train station. Very basic room, but enough for one night sleep. Motorbike rental available. If you have time before heading to Tam Coc or elsewhere, visit the Chùa Kỳ Lân pagoda area, it is beautiful!

The family running the hotel was really nice and kind. We received an upgrade to the room, as, it seems, we had booked a smaller room and got a nice big one, which was really nice! The room was spacious, well lit and clean and the beds were really big. It wasn't too noisy, we managed to actually get some rest, which so far on our journey through Vietnam has prooved ...challenging. There are several options for breakfast and it is quite tasty. We also got our laundry done in the hotel, which was very helpful after having travelled for over 2 weeks.

Maybe for some people the bath is a bit weird, since there is no extra shower cabin, it is more like a shower next to the toilet, but we had no problem with that. It was all still clean and functional.

The hotel is near the train station of Ninh Binh where we arrived and departed. We informed Xuan that we come late and he and his wife waited for us. They were very nice and especially helpful, Xuan speaks quite good english and even some german. The room was clean, air-conditioning worked perfectly fine, the beds were good, we slept well. The breakfast next morning was nice and Xuan offered us to show us the city and surroundings for the two days of our stay, for a reasonable fee. We accepted and so he drove us to different locations with his car, telling us all sorts of things and showing us exceptionally beautiful places. We had two really really nice days in Ninh Binh, and Xuan was always flexible if we needed some extra rest or had other wishes. We took the night train when we departed, and since we had some hours to wait he offered us to stay at his hotel until then. So overall we had a great time with a great person, can't say anything negative.

The hotel is a bit distant to both bus terminal and railway station. People with small luggage can easily walk, but with our huge suitcases we had to take a taxi.

The hotel is located in front of a small water reservoir, which means that rooms in higher floors have really a nice view. We were upgraded for free to a nice room with balcony, and a tasty breakfast is included in the room rate. Xuan and his wife Hoa, the owners of the hotel, speak good English and really help to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Xuan has a long experience in the tourism business and therefore is very knowledgeable in every aspect of traveling.
