Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe property was perfectly located on the water front. We enjoyed snorkelling out the front of our villa. When we arrived there was everything we needed, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. We loved our stay at Kooyu Villas and we are eager to come back.

AustraliaThere were a few issues with the wifi connection. However the staff were amazing at trying to fix the issues.
Loved the location of the villas - in distance from the airport, the town and the ocean. We loved the layout of the villa - the kitchen, the living room and the outdoor shower. Also loved the pool. We would definitely stay here again. Brad, Sarah and Happi were so lovely and accommodating.

New ZealandBeing a bit more clear on distance to groceries/ to town. Nonetheless, would stay there again and would be ready to stock up on food.
Excellent service, Brad and the team are very approachable and helpful! Only down side is that it is fairly from town (not walking distance) and there are only two restaurants around. Good snorkeling in front of the beach at high tide. Honeymoon beach is also a 10 minute walk.

AustraliaNothing. Everything was fabulous
Everything. The space had everything you need for a short or long term stay. The location is sublime. Hosts were spectacular, Brad was super attentive. The location is fantastic - a short drive to the centre and a few restaurants walking distance, as well as a dive centre. Definitely recommend renting a car and ideally a 4wd for exploring the island (which the hosts can assist with on site). All in all the stay was so wonderful and we look forward to visiting again.

New ZealandThe design of the villas is exceptional - rustic, stylish and fit for the site. Very spacious areas with lovely artwork and beautiful garden. Kitchen was extremely well fitted out for self catering and the view outstanding. I loved the helpful and happy staff who were a joy to spend time with. Off the beaten track a little, I would highly recommend stocking up on groceries before you go as once there, you won’t want to go back to town! However, the staff organised a local driver for me when I needed it, who was cheery and punctual. Missing the place already!

Hong Kong2 main issues 1/ the property shows an outdoor swimming pool, whereas only 2 out of 4 villas have a pool and there is no common pool. So thats false advertising and marketing deceit, as we booked a villa without individual swimming pool and basically it meant no pool.l. Yet the owner did not own up to his false advertising and even maintained he was right. so we had to pay more to get a villa with swimming pool just to get the pool that was advertised on booking.com. So be wary. And don't count on a pool if you dont book the pool villa. 2/ there is njo air con like most of Vanuatu... but for this villa, the room is at the back, the re is no air flow, and even with standing fans, the room was so HOOOOOOT that we could not sleep any of the nights we ere there. and the ceiling fans are just so lazy that they dont work. So be ready to not sleep.... 3/ we were a family fo 4, 2 adults and 2 kids, it is meant to be a 2 bedroom villa. But the 2nd bedroom is a second isolated pavilion at the back. It meant that one night we sleep 4 in a room, and the other nights because it was soooooo hot, i had to sleep with one child in one room while my wife had to sleep in another room with my other child, completely separated, so description was far from accurate, same as for the pool (which was not just inaccurate but false advertising) So overall, great location, not a bad place, but there are better places a few meters away where you can sleep at night, have a proper pool as advertised and probably better choices
Locations is great, super nice beach, very close to town but far enough that you are in vanuatu, not in a town. and there is a micro-climate, we were there during Christmas, raining heavily in Port Vila everyday but no rain and usually sunshine on that peninsula. So highly recommended for the location. Generally nice design even though not all villas are as finished as the vilal shown on photos (for instance contact vs pebble walls) Staff at the villa is nice.

AustraliaThe road in is unsealed and a little bumpy, but then most of the roads on the island are a little bumpy.
We loved backing onto the beach and the pool and the tranquility. And the staff were very friendly and helpful.
