Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaSome of the cooking utensils in the apartment could do with being replaced. But only small things like cooking tongs or a wooden spoon to cook with. Also the Wifi data was capped. However it was only an issue because I had lost my cell phone and without Wifi it was a problem to contact the host to get the data topped up. They were more than happy to assist.
My host contacted me well in advance to advise on how to collect the keys from the lock box. I liked that the parking felt very secure, as did the apartment complex as a whole. And the apartment itself was clean.

South AfricaFirstly when we arrived there, the room wasn't ready for us yet and we had to wait 30 minutes. There's little to no assistance... no reception, no one to call for inquiries, just security guards....no one to show or direct us to the apartment. We had to find it ourselves, find our parking for ourselves, and also figure out where the key was, and also we didn't have the remote for the gate. No direct instructions online.
The apartment is beautifully furnished and decorated. Pots, ironing board, mop×broom, cleaning products, washing machine ....all the essentials

NetherlandsBlinds were broken which meant people across could look into my room. One of the remotes did not have batteries. No information was provided on free Internet. I rented a different apartment in the same complex before and that host was much more proactive. The bath plug does not seal properly so once in the bath it still empties slowly. One of chairs has loose legs thst made it unstable. I see some issues were reported over a month ago by others and have not been resolved, like the bath plug and blinds. I will not rent it again, especially as other apartments in the same complex provide a much better experience.

South AfricaThe HOST should not be representing this apartment and should certainly not be in the hospitality industry. I am 60 years & have been travelling for 40 years as an adult. Never in my entire life have any one been so rude to mee , threated to call the police to put me on the street and instructed security to remove me from the premises - after i have paid the FULL price and a legally binding contract was established between the owner and myself via Booking.com. This gentrman is of Idian descent and was super racist to me because i am a white male. I kept all of his SMSe to me and will happily share it with you. Again - never ever in my entire live have any person who represented an place of accommodation been so rude and derogative to me. I am going to ask my lawyer to do a deads search to establish who is the owner of this property to be able to get in touch with the owner personally. Again - i do have his SMSe to me till late at night & also the security guard that he instructed to remove me from the premises without any due course and a legally binding agreement further to me paying the full price in advance. On the “ ADMIN “ side the gent who acts as the host onlyhad the room ready at 17:00, i was not not aloud to check in earlier. (2) He misquoted me the room / unit number which caused havic with security ( i fully understand that they could not allow me in), and certainly was very stressful to me after a long day of work and driving far in hectic traffic. He completely took no responsibity for the error and did not appoligize at all - not once, he was actually very derocative towards me . (3) He instructed me to leave the property at 10:00 — the actual e mail from booking .com said 11:00. I have no idea why he would be so rude to tell me to make sure i am out at 10:00 or he will call the cops ( i do have proof on SMS). (4) No assistance re advise where to park ( have sms). (5) had to ask 3 times for the code for the key for the unit - 3 phone calls.
