The property was incredibly tasteful, had beautiful artworks and felt warm and homely. Loved the tiny Smeg kettle, cute and homemade treats and welcoming sherry. Some lovely thoughtful touches. The three course breakfast in the main house with the fire going with our incredible host, Antonio, was a definite highlight.

The location was excellent and within easy walking distance of the local shops and restaurant. Our room was immaculate and exquisitely decorated. Loved absolutely everything about this place!

Antonio was just amazing! His place is just so incredible - can spend hours just looking at his decor in the guesthouse! Breakfast was a feast! Coffee absolutely THE best! Such a genuinely warm person - made us feel so at home -we will for sure be back and we HIGHLY recommend his guesthouse - it is located within walking distance of everything! Shops and restaurants - you won't be disappointed!

Antonio and Ash are warm, welcoming and accommodating . Nothing seems too much. The room, set in a sunny courtyard-is eclectically filled with art, stylish and comfortable The breakfast was extremely generous, unusual touches, cooked and served with exceptional care and accompanied by delicious nutty Brazilian coffee (and served by a fabulous Brazilian!!) The dining room is artistic and the table setting gorgeous - We loved our stay and will certainly be back.

The location is great, close to everything. The team was amazing. Great attention to detail, very comfortable beds. Great breakfast in the morning. We felt very welcome and would return to stay there every time.

The owners paid an extremely amount of attention to every detail, the extensive art collection adds to the overall ambience. Every need has been attended to. Most comfortable beds and crisp linen. Antonio gave us a warm welcome and attended to all our needs. They serve an excellent breakfast with lots of local, homemade treats.

We loved everything about our stay at Royal Street Guesthouse. Antonio's superior service was evident from the minute we stepped over the threshold. My husband who has traveled extensively remarked that his welcome was the best that he has ever had; it was friendly, thorough and informative. He provided suggestions for dinner and made the reservation as per our request. The room is tastefully decorated, comfortable, clean with lovely touches such as homemade rusks, ground coffee, jelly beans and pillow chocolates. Breakfasts are a highlight with homemade croissants, cheeses, meats, homemade jams, crepes ..... not to mention very delicious coffee. We enjoyed looking at the wide range of artworks and beautiful objects on display not to mention paging through a book selected from the library as you enter the guesthouse. The guesthouse is perfectly situated for exploring Riebeek Kasteel, it is situated opposite the Royal Hotel where one can sit and have sundowners after an afternoon of browsing through the shops which are within easy walking distances. We would absolutely select to stay here again if we return to the area.

If I really have to :-): - no tv and Netflix didn't work but it DOES NOT change anything in my opinion!

I stayed at three guest-houses in the town - this one is the very best one. + Excellent staff and Antonio made the very best breakfast I had in South Africa! + The very best location, 20 metres from main road but very quiet + Beautiful, very nice decorated place + Huge and very nice bathroom with everything you need + Generator during load sheddings I have to come back!

We had the most amazing stay with Antonio and Ashley. Their focus on detail in the room,bathroom and communal area is of splendid standard!!! The freshly baked croisant, selfmade jam, fruit bowl and crepes were excellent.They will definitely see us and / or friends again!! Thanks a lot!!!!

Attention to detail and thoughtfulness are what come to mind first when I think about 1 Royal Street Guesthouse. What a place and what a host! Antonio and Ash have such an en pointe facility and a beautifully curated collection that they share with each guest. We felt special and spoilt :) We couldn't have stayed at a better place.

There was nothing anyone could dislike.

A beautiful period house in the centre of the town near to all amenities. The bedrooms was very tastefully decorated and furnished with great attention to detail. The Garden Room overlooks a green, tranquil garden with just the the birdsong in the morning. The bed was firm and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with the majority of the food sourced locally and with some very tasty treats prepared by Antonio, one of the hosts. The breakfast room was very tastefully furnished and to such an extent that you felt as if you were stepping into the pages of an interiors magazine! There was very useful information provided about restaurants and shops. A fantastic experience all round!
