An old mushroom farm with loads of character and lovely accommodation

Loved the stay at the Old Mushroom Farm, quiet and peaceful and surrounded by nature with access to great coffee and food on your doorstep.

The apartment backs onto a shop and there is no sound proofing so you can hear everything in the bedrooms when people are in the shop and probably the opposite is true. The rooms were missing some things such as a full length mirror. I also found it odd that the property didnt accept credit cards for payments yet the coffee shop and bakery did. I booked for fewer people than we were and I had to pay in extra (which was completely fine and valid) but I found it very inconvenient that they didnt have a credit card facility and I had to EFT the money. Mostly because the cellphone signal and wifi werent strong enough for me to complete the transaction on the property. Just think they can get an Ikhoka machine and make life easier.

Loved that we stayed in an old mushroom tunnel that was converted. Beautiful finishes in the room. Great location on the property. Big kitchen if self catering is required. Friendly staff and good information packs available. The property is situated on a beautiful farm with green hills and we did a trail run there. There is also a delicious bakery and coffee shop on the property.

The loft was an incredible birthday retreat, boasting a cozy ambiance and spacious layouts. The views were breathtaking, and we spent the evening exploring the farm. Every moment here was absolutely enchanting. I regret not booking a longer stay. I will definitely be planning my return to this hidden gem.

Cement floor in bathroom was not appealing. Entrance and reception is first impression and mine was that of shock to see this area was not welcoming to look at. Needs to be painted. Coffee tasted old. Outdoor chairs uncomfortable

The view and peaceful enviroment. It was value for money. Friendly hosts. Utensil selection was excellent. Bedding was excellent. Immaculately clean cottage. Our privacy was respected.

We had one candle for load shedding but no matches.

Good value. The cottage had pretty much everything we needed. The beds were comfy and the wifi worked even during load shedding.

The fact that the property does not sell alcohol at the eateries so you need to take your own. It’s merely the inconvenience but easily overcome. Another would be to have a swimming pool for those of us wanting to swim on the warmer days 🤩

The location is splendid and the eclectic buildings are lovely. Even though there were other guests, you wouldn’t know it due to the layout of the space where we stayed.

The Wifi in the room was terrible. The key to the main door to our room did not work but then we were advised to use the side door and that worked fine.

The space is beautiful and lots of fun shops to explore. The room was well appointed and tastefully decorated. The people were very friendly. The pizzas made on site were delicious. We had to leave early and so were going to miss breakfast and so the staff helped us arrange something we could cook in the room. They were very sweet and helpful.

The Wi-Fi did not work unfortunately, even though you could connect to it. I was under the impression that there were separate rooms (at least on booking.com), although there were only two rooms - one with a double bed and another with many single beds.

The house is based in a lovely location, with a stunning view and lots of amenities like the shops and cafés a minute's walk from the house. The house is decked out with everything you could need in terms of cooking equipment and tasteful furniture. Plenty of space too!

Beautiful resort and peaceful. Friendly and helpful hostess. Variety of shops and art. Lovely fireplace that keeps the cottage warm when temps drop. Nice braai and scenery. Farm style cottage. The sponsored plunger coffee is great. Mountainbiking near by in the area.

Wifi provided and no tv so a pack of cards or board game would have been great if provided.

We arrived late so we did.not meet any staff. The key was in the door for us on arrival. It was cold and rainy but there was hot water and wood ready for us to use in the lovely fireplace. Was a bit concerned about the 2 dogs patrolling but they were friendly.

The braai was a bit strangely shaped which caused smoke to billow out the front. The toaster didn’t work.

Conveniently located, easy check-in and out, interesting artisanal shops on sight. Clean, comfortable but basic accommodation.
