Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaPictures on website different from actual place. Although the place was clean the interior can do with an upgrade. Only open view, no dstv. Telkom wifi non-existent. Flashing the whole time. Windows at the bottom couldn't close properly after I opened it and I was a bit jittery because I was there with my 2 grandchildren. Didn't sleep well the 2nd night. The windows can also do with a little cleaning.

The location in Great. We loved walking to the beach everyday. There is a little shop for snacks and drinks and a lovely ice-cream shop.

I loved the location overlooking the canal and ocean. The wooden floor was a bonus as I struggle with carpets. The complex is quiet and secure. The host was friendly and gave clear directions and directives on how to access the property.

South AfricaThe braai has no chimney and it was very windy which made the braai a bit unpleasant. It would be very nice if the braai could have been under cover which means you could even visit during winter.
