How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Everything was perfect - nothing wrong at all.
The reception from our hosts were great and they kindly upgraded our room free of costs. The breakfasts were spot on and the location superb. We could walk to all the venues. Christo and Magda had great suggestions with regards to where we could have dinner and also sight -seeing.

The hosts went out of their way to accommodate us. The room was prepared and ready for our early arrival on a Saturday morning, and they and the staff were at all times exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room was very well appointed and the breakfast was tasty and served with aplomb. These are the establishments that give the hospitality industry a really good name and the hosts can be proud of flying the flag high!

Great hosts, very helpful. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was excellent and the local restaurant, just a few minutes walk away, was perfect too. Pool was very welcome after a very warm day.

Wish we could have stayed longer!
We loved our stay at this Guesthouse! The position is perfect, easy to reach as it is on the main road and at a walking distance from everything you might need. The rooms are nice and well equipped and the breakfast is very good. Magda and Christo are warm and welcoming hosts and they make their best to let you feel at home and enjoy your stay.

There aren't that many restaurants within walking distance but the taxis are cheap enough so it was fine.
Christo and Magda the owners were so nice. He cooked the breakfast which was delicious and there was a good selection of uncooked too. Magda was so helpful with suggestions of where to go and she was so lovely. They also had there daughter staying Christina and she was also incredibly helpful and pleasant. Everything was perfect and would definitely stay again.

Perfectly located near excellent restaurants. The property is beautifully maintained with a clear blue pool with loungers and seating. Nice dining area and good breakfast with bottomless coffee! Christo and Magda are excellent hosts and gave us great information and pointers. We visited with family on holiday from the UK and they were equally impressed.

If you look for a stay with the most lovely hosts, this is the place. They are welcoming, know the region by heart and will make you feel at home. The rooms are really confortable and the pool perfect to escape the heat of the Karoo. We would come back anytime we're in the region.

Location is excellent - within walking distance to nearby restaurants and centrally located. The rooms are comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the swimming pool for an afternoon dip in the hot weather!

Very friendly staff and Owners. And the place is very need and clean. It is situated close to very thing. And private parking with good access. Owners know each guest by name and always ask if you comfortable and if you need anything.

What a pity we could only stay 1 night. Magda and Christo make you feel so welcome. The guesthouse itself is charming and cosy and we had a lovely room with a patio. It´s right in the centre of town, so plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. Definitely the place to stay in Oudtshoorn.
