It's a shame that the breakfast is self-cook. This is made perfectly clear in the description so we knew what to expect, but If they could find a way to supply a served breakfast it would make this place 100% perfect.

Beautiful place with a spacious room and stunning views overlooking the mountain and river. The pool was a favourite since it was a hot and humid day, and very pleasing to the eye with a spectacular view. We enjoyed our stay and Melanie (our host) was phenomenal. Due to loadshedding the next morning, she offered to bring us coffee or tea, and assisted with any and everything we needed. Thank you for hosting us. We hope to return on future travels.

Our personal preference is to sit down to a cooked breakfast and not to have to prepare our own breakfast. This is the first time we have had to do that. Wifi in our room was very weak and we had to follow-up with the owner who then put us on their wifi. Problem then resolved.

Such a pretty setting with a lovely outlook, was such a joy to stop here for an overnighter. Everything was just right with very comfortable beds. Would highly recommend this guesthouse

We absolutely loved staying at Riverbed Guesthouse! The room + bath are spacious, super clean, stylish and comfy. We really appreciated the little details e.g. the coffee machine incl. milk frother. The garden is awesome with a nice pool, a little stream in the back and a beautiful view on the mountains. Further, the owners were super friendly - we immediately felt welcome and at home. Thank you for having us!

We had wonderful stay at Riverbed. The host was really amazing: we got an upgrade to a bigger room, lots of recommandations and she even booked a table for dinner at the nearby restaurants. We loved the mountainview and always felt safe, even while walking home by night during loadshedding.

We loved the mountain/forest view. Loved the pool on our front door step Parking on site perfect Restaurants in walking distance a big bonus Large shower and kitchenette well thought through. Mirror at desk/dressing table area perfect.

Very nice welcome from Melani and her two friendly giants. She also made us a reservation at a very good restaurant for dinner. The room is tastefully furnished and has a big bathroom. The outdoor area is very well maintained with a spectacular view of the mountains. We would have liked to have stayed longer and used the pool.

Lovely spacious rooms and manicured gardens with a stunning pool and outdoor area. Comfortable beds and couch, loved the coffee machine. Staff very friendly and kind. Nice area also, views of the mountain and easy access to the walking/running/cycling trail.

A gem of a property in Swellendam, we were totally blown away by the property. Everything was wonderful & the pool was fantastic with breathtaking scenery. Beautiful trail walks from the back garden. A wonderful welcome & fantastic restaurant booking all by the property owner, so thankful for a great stay at the gorgeous A Riverbed Guesthouse

Not many restaurants were open on the day we were there. Not a fault of the property, just a note for planning.

Beautiful peaceful property and a very clean, light-filled and comfortable room with basic kitchenette. It was cool and rainy so we couldn't utilize pool or spacious patio. It was good to have solar power to lessen the interruption of load shedding. Short lovely walk to restaurants. The hostess was wonderful.

The location is stunning, I wish we had more time and some hiking boots to explore the river trail. I loved the modern rooms and the Nespresso machine with fresh milk! We were in Swellendam for "Around the Pot" - the rooms were clean, comfortable and very warm with the nice thick duvet covers and air-conditioning. Perfect accommodation for a cycling event and nice and friendly host - thanks Melani!
