To have those views it means it’s downhill, and uphill to the apartment when you want to get down to the beach, it was particularly windy when we were there and again because of the height it was pretty loud at night time.

The view is fab, the two ladies who mind and clean the apartment were wonderful

Some items such as umbrellas for the sun, basic cooking items such as oil, salt and pepper, keys to the laundry room could have been provided at the start to make for an even more comfortable stay.

The views were breathtaking overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The property is 5 min drive to grocery stores and 10 min drive to Kalk Bay. The host was very accommodative. Ivan allowed us to make changes to our booking and made arrangements for an additional room for our parents who decided to join us at the last minute. The staff were very nice and helped us with the laundry.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Whale of Time Hotel in Fish Hoek, Cape Town, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The highlight of this unforgettable experience was undoubtedly the breathtaking views. Situated in the picturesque Fish Hoek, the hotel offers an unparalleled vista of the ocean that is nothing short of stunning. The expansive windows in the rooms and common areas frame the mesmerizing seascape, providing a constant reminder of the natural beauty that surrounds this gem of a hotel. Waking up to the sight of the sunrise over the water is a memory I will cherish forever. The hospitality at the Whale of Time Hotel is unmatched. The entire team is not only professional but also genuinely friendly, creating an ambiance that feels like home away from home. The staff members go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome and comfortable. Their attention to detail and commitment to providing exceptional service truly set this hotel apart. The accommodations are thoughtfully designed, with a touch of coastal charm. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with all the amenities one could desire. Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple seeking a romantic getaway, or a family on vacation, you will basically fall in love with the place. In conclusion, my stay at the Whale of Time Hotel was nothing short of magical. From the jaw-dropping views to the warm and friendly team, every aspect of this hotel contributes to an exceptional and memorable stay. I cannot recommend it highly enough and eagerly anticipate my next visit to this haven in Fish Hoek.

Had a a wonderful stay there for the second time and would choose again. Very peaceful location with beautiful view, nice and clean rooms, always very attentive staff. The safest beach in Cape Town just a short walk away.

A lovely apartment with an exceptional view of False bay plus seeing the sun rise every day. The host was very friendly and allowed us an extended stay. Very friendly cleaning staff.

The Appartment is in a silent dead end street, where you feel really safe. It has an awesome view through large windows and two beautiful bathrooms. Iwan was the most caring host throughout our 3 weeks journey along the cape; we has available 24/7 and proactively approached us through what’s app, to tell us load shedding schedules or recommendations for local activities in the area as well as restaurant tipps. The two angels of the house, Melody and Faith were lovely and caring and even helped us out with our dirty laundry. A strong recommendation- we wished we could have staid longer as we really loved it here!

Water in hot water taps takes long to heat up. Front door could not lock from the inside with the key.

The load shedding was a bit of an issue as we couldn’t use the kettle or the Wi-Fi during this time. I believe that generators were being fitted but it would’ve been an idea to have an inverter just for the kettle and Wi-Fi usage. We bought the apartment to use the garage but this never materialised. However it was not really a problem as there was plenty of parking outside. The oven and hob was a bit dated and it was quite difficult to cook. We ended up just eating out anyway, which was okay.

we had a free upgrade so the apt was light and airy and very spacious. The views were magnificent and the apartment was overall in great condition. We had a WhatsApp group so were able to contact the management easily which was very helpful. The maids always came and did the cleaning when we asked. I used the pool a few times and it was lovely, great views and very clean and well kept.

It's not the owner's fault but you do have to keep in mind that, although the locals have normalised load-shedding (aka power cuts at all different times of the day and night), you will not necessarily have available to you the stated amenities. For us this meant no TV, internet, stove, lights, etc for four hours one evening and then no kettle for coffee the following morning. Less of an issue if you're not reliant on self-catering.

Terrific, uninterrupted view, large private deck/balcony comfortable bed, good bedding, good shower, bath and towels, well-equipped kitchen, clean fridge. Private and quiet. Secure, spacious. Good location for walking along the beach. Street parking outside. Friendly, accommodating owner, kept us informed of load-shedding schedules and allowed an early check-in.

Load shedding was a slight irritant but no fault of the property

They're not kidding about the view - it was amazing. It was wonderful watching the fur seals swimming about from the lovely terrace. Room was clean, well maintained and well equipped, and the housekeepers (Melody and Faith) were helpful and efficient. Good WiFi too. About 10 minutes walk to the beach and a further 5 to the shops. Neighbourhood felt very safe.
