Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was perfect.
Absolutely wonderful. The location, the rooms, the food, it's all excellent! Elephants came to drink from the pool twice while I was there. The guides are AMAZING! I can hardly imagine any guides being better than Matt, Nicollete, Connie and Anti. They truly love what they do and you learn a lot on their drives and walks. The tree house is a must! I loved it. Truly can't say enough good things about this place. You will feel like family here!

RussiaThe way to the camp is awful. I was very close to a heart attack multiple times because I thought we would damage the rental car or get stuck. Also, when you book this accommodation, it’s not very obvious that the price on booking.com is not final. You have to pay a conservation fee of 480 rand per person per night as well as some gate fees. Not a very pleasant surprise to have when you’ve already booked everything. We arrived pretty close to the evening game drive so we were provided with what looked like a makeshift lunch (bread, cheese, meat). I don’t know if it is always this way or because we were running late. It was okay, though. However, the breakfast wasn’t much better: some more bread, cheese, meat, a bit of pastries and fruit. We expected something hot like fried eggs. On top of that, there was only one jug of juice for a table of 10 people. By the time I filled my plate, all the juice had been gone and there was no one of the staff to ask for a refill. I’m not saying the food was bad, no. Just that there’s some room for improvement.
The staff are welcoming and friendly. The guides are amazing with excellent knowledge of the wildlife. We enjoyed our evening game drive with a fantastic sunset as a cherry on top of a delicious cake. For the following morning we were offered a choice between a bush walk and another game drive. We chose the latter since we were staying for only one night and wanted to see as many animals as possible. Unfortunately, one of the guides was feeling unwell and we had to join the majority for the bush walk. However, the guides were super understanding and we had some kind of a combination of both. Incredible experience! The dinner was delicious and beautifully served. The bungalow was nicely decorated and lovely. It’s possible to see some wildlife like monkeys even on the territory, which is pretty exciting!

United StatesOne small thing that would have been awesome - insulated stainless bottles rather than the thin aluminum bottles for water on the game drives - would keep water so much more refreshing. Check the weather when you go and be prepared - there is no AC and we were there during a heat wave (100F, 40C) so sleeping and relaxing was difficult despite fans, but the pools were awesome.
We loved the exciting and comfortable game drives, the sundowners in the bush, the knowledgeable, friendly staff - we loved eating with the staff and other travelers at dinner - all communal areas were spotless and comfortable - staff was always on hand to ask questions or get a drink. The wildlife guides, Connie and Taybon, were just phenomenal, and the food was all delicious and rooms/showers were very comfortable! Location, animals (we saw SO MANY), everything outstanding.

NetherlandsJust the first night it got so hot in the rondavel we had trouble sleeping with just the one fan. To be fair we stayed at the lodge mid-summer so it got to almost 40 degrees during that day.
The lodge is perfectly situated for amazing game drives and of course bush walks. The meals were absolutely delicious every single time, and we not once grew hungry because of the large portions. The rondavel huts are quite romantic (even though I was with a friend) and the outside shower looking over the savannah gives that extra special touch to the bush feel. The staff is really great, they really took amazing care of us in a down to earth way so we didn't feel awkward about any exorbitant luxury or anything (we're normally backpackers so not really that kind of travellers). Connie was a great safari guide: smart and funny with endless knowledge. We couldn't have been happier with this match up! Thanks Connie!

Also the things which were arranged around my wifes birthday were wonderwel! Our stay was perfect! Also the most mesmorizing thing was the bush safari in the morning and the other safari. The rangers explained everything very well and based on the tracks we saw a lot of animals! A lot of compliment to both rangers they everything we wanted know. Overall, our stay was just perfect! If you want to book a safari with a night in the park, do it here! We only booked 1 nignt but wanted to stay more when we needed to leave.

We really enjoyed our stay at Africa on Foot. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. The morning walks and afternoon game drives provided amazing immersion in the African bush and we have great memories of close encounters with lions and elephants as well as great sightings of other wildlife and birds. The accommodation is comfortable with all the facilities you need and the meals were all very good.

Staying at Africa on foot was an incredible experience. The chalets are nicely furnished and cosy and the outdoor showers adds to the overall experience. The camp is also very peaceful and right in the middle of the bush. The swimming pools are great to spend some time in between activities. The morning bush walk, and afternoon game drive are done with the most amazing guides you could wish for, they are incredible and passionate people and as excited as you are to see the animals (thanks Luke & Tayler!). The food was plentiful and tasty, and all guests dine together, which adds to the unique experience. The location, the camp and the people who work here make it one of the best places I have ever stayed at. I cannot recommend it any more!

United StatesThe only thing that is tricky is the drive to the camp, google maps does not provide correct directions and it was tricky to come from Kruger National park rather than Johannesburg.
This stay was absolutely incredible. I can truly say it exceeded my expectations. My partner and I are usually budget travelers, so when planning our trip to Kruger, it was originally a no brainer that we would just stay at the sites within the national park as they were much cheaper and offered self driving. We ended up deciding to book a private reserve due to being able to drive off road and get closer to the animals and just wanted the experience. The whole experience was AMAZING. I spent so much time wishing that I had booked one less night in the national park and booked a second night at Africa on Foot. The staff is truly so so so incredible, they are passionate about the animals, they are so personal, they cater to exactly what you want or need, they make so many adjustments to ensure that you are having a great time. The game drives with the staff was one of my absolute favorite parts, they know so many facts about the animals. I spent most of my stay with Danelle who was truly one of the best guides I have ever met. The bed was comfortable, the food was actually incredible, the facilities were great. I have so many great things to say about Africa on Foot, and I cannot recommend it enough.

SwitzerlandThe room we got was very rustic. Accommodation was quite simple and a lot of insects were in the room with very warm temperature at night, as no AC. Something you could expect as being in the Busch, but for the same high price, we didn’t have that kind of issues in other lodges which were clean and welcoming in similar condition with with no insect in the room
Kindness of the staff working at the camp. Conviviality of the people working. Super nice common area.
