The lodge is exquisitely decorated and very clean! The pictures don’t even do it justice. We loved the pool area and the room was just stunning and very clean. Breakfast was good and had generous portions. Our host was very helpful, friendly and just a lovely person all around. She made the stay super pleasant and took extra effort and care to arrange a cake and dinner for my husband’s birthday. We’ll definitely be going back!

Everything about African flair is perfect. We just wish they could add dinner to their property menu. But the owner made sure she order-in dinner for us a three course meal from her favorite restaurant nearby, such as a sweet lady.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect. From the moment we arrived until departure, they exceeded our expectations. Rooms were spotless, and the facilities were well-maintained. Breakfast was amazing. We really enjoyed it. Spa and swimming pool top-notch. The owner made our stay very special, like adding fresh flowers and candles in our room.

I love home cooked meals i wish they served lunch and supper. A personal chef would be a chery on top for such a lovely place.

Spent 5 nights at this fabulous lodge. We did a number of full day or half day activities which the proprietor helped to arrange for us and every detail was worked out, ensuring all we had to do was relax and be wowed. Returning to the luxury of the lodge and cooling off in the pool and the stunning grounds was a perfect way to finish off those days. We supplemented the chilling out process with drinks from the expertly curated selection of fine South African wines or beers, spirits and soft drinks. The interior of the lodge and the private suite could only be described as luxurious opulence furnished with many beautiful African artefacts. And as if all of that is not enough we enjoyed ample beautifully prepared and presented breakfasts. We were also privileged to play host to families of nyalas and warthogs who visited the area just outside our bedroom window and patio doors to feast on fallen amarula fruits. Wow wow wow !!!

This place is pure magic! Every detail - from the welcome drinks to communication to interior to breakfast to recommendations - is just perfect. I would rate more than 10 if I could - this lodge is high-end and pure luxury.

I don't know where to start and if I can find the right words for this stay! It was more than magic and everything was more than perfect! The whole lodge and also the owner are out of this world! Like a fairytale! The whole lodge is amazing, the pool, the rooms, the deco, the Spa, the location and Alet who organized our wedding and our safari. She surprised us everyday again and again. I still can't believe that this place exist... My review sounds unreal - so does our stay! But so glad that everything was real and we made the best memories for lifetime! Thank you Alet! We will come back for sure!

African Flair Boutique Safari Lodge is an exceptional place, breath taking views and comfort, friendly and the owner is so welcoming, very friendly and willing to help at any given time, not to mention a great chef. Place is well located and beautifully furnished to surpass one's romantic requirements. I'm definitely popping in again when in Hoedspruit.

We travelled from Australia in December. This luxury accommodation is world class .No wonder it has recently won a prestigious international award as it simply is out of this world!. From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave it's like walking onto a movie set !!!. WOW, WOW, WOW !!!! We felt like rockstars or movie stars as we had complete privacy whilst our hostess would appear when ever you needed anything. We felt like the world was a million miles away as we relaxed by the incredible pool area in complete seclusion !!.. Our hostess had personality plus !!! She was entertaining as well as welcoming, charming & extremely professional - an absolutely incredible person . The hosts genuinely want you to have an incredible time & don't disappoint. The quality decor is completely amazing & very tastefully done - you can tell so much time and effort has gone into making it into something so special. This place in a word is magical. The attention to detail is absolutely next level. I have travelled all over the world & I can't think of anywhere that could even come close to African Flair. It is boutique accommodation at its finest. Do not hesitate to book - this stay will be unforgettable!!. I would rate higher it higher if I could

I loved and enjoyed everything

African Flair was way above my expectations. The fact that we were the only guests in the ĺodge gave us more privacy and peaceful stay. The host gave us more attention, and activities were planned very well and on time.

From the booking process to the check-in point, the experience was unbelievably mind blowing. We were 3 hours late but Alet welcomed us with complimentary drinks and she was generous to show us the stunning venue. The place is stunning and embraces the African roots/origin, the art works on the walls gave some goosebumps (it felt like an art gallery). The rooms & decorations are stylish and modern, definitely giving that luxury showroom vibes; I love it 🥰 The location is perfectly good and closer to the shopping centre, the Wild Estate is access control with visible security 24/7. Waking up to beautiful wild animal sounds made me love this place even more🥰. Alet was incredibly nice and helpful throughout our stay, never complained and our 3 nights stay felt like 10 hours ☺️….thumb up 👍🏽 to Alet’s great customer service 💐 The food was delicious and the presentation by Alet was awesome, and you do get asked about your allergies 🙏🏽. The pool is soo beautiful and the pool-side deco is incredible 😍. This place is one of the best in Hoedspruit so far, I’ll wait for a name of a better & affordable place than this one. Thank you African Flair, my wife and I will surely return within 6 to 8 months. 💐

There were some glitches with the communication, i.e. you need to complete the payment 7 days in advance of your stay: this is no problem, but was not communicated through booking.com, so I learned and did this at the last minute. However, Alet was so kind and we could have also arranged it upon arrival. Additionally, a trip timing was wrongly communicated but again, Alet was so kind to prepare our breakfast both before and after the trip, so we were happy. My earplugs got trashed during the cleaning, though they may be difficult to identify. Alet was so kind to offer the earplugs that she has. We are asked to check out at 9h30 instead of 10h00 (as advertised in booking) due to the new guests who would arrive at 14h00 (normal advertised check in time). I did not find it very kind, especially that there is a clear check in time which we are not allowed to come earlier. The payment covers the entire time between check in and out, I wouldn’t ask this to my guests without any clear reasoning. Finally, we also said that this is not possible and Alet was again kind in this issue.

The lodge itself is very stylish, comfortable bed and the possibility of sleeping without a roof i.e. watching the stars. Everything is beautiful, clean, calm. You are really in nature here. The entire place was for us, which is really great. The location is also good, very close to the airport & being in a secured Wildlife estate, you can do your own mini safari in the surrounding area. Alet is a great host, really trying to make you feel at home, finding solutions such as preparing a picnic bag for breakfast since we had to leave very early for the safari. She prepares everything with care and cleanliness. Alet also kindly booked activities for us, so we did not need to search ourselves. The activities were also nicely organized and our guide was very knowledgeable.

Everything was perfect

This place is a little gem. Perfect location, right next to incredible reserves in greater Kruger. One day we woke up to giraffes right at our doorstep. The owner is absolutely lovely, helpful and attentive to every detail. She helped us arrange all our outings, food orders and everything we asked. The food she made was the most delicious we had in South Africa, even compared to our 5 star JHB hotel. We are vegetarian and have some food allergies and she catered to every need. The room itself is gorgeous with one indoor and one outdoor shower, and one indoor and one outdoor bed to watch the milky way at night and hear the lions roar. Truly magical.
