How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Did not like to uave to go upstairs for the bathroom. Shower water pressure couldve been better.

Location is close to airport so good for a stop over but not much else around. Some disrepair but doesnt overshadow the positives. They need to update a few prices etc. on their menu, and i believe it still says free airport shuttle on Booking. com and the shuttle is actually 200 Rand.
Property is unique and nice looking. Rooms were comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

It's extremely noisy, and every noise echos, so it's not so easy to sleep besides the comfortable bed. There was a radio in the breakfast room extremely loud and played through the night, which just added to noise level.
Clean and neat accommodation close the airport. Safe parking and surrounding area seemed fine too. Lovely big rooms and bathrooms. Shuttle service a plus (additional fee). Friendly and helpful lady at reception.

We prefer to stay here whenever we have to travel from the airport. Really a lovely place with very friendly people and service. Great location, quiet and safe, near airport with an airport shuttle.

We did not like the fact that they wanted all our credit card details with cvv number written on a form.
The staff were very helpful. The room was nice and clean. That airport shuttle was really great, made transportation to and from the airport really easy.

The view from the sitting area in the bathroom on the top floor was beautiful! We had a lovely lunch which the staff ordered and brought up for us. There was a delicious breeze blowing through the bedroom. The lodge is very quaint and picturesque with big beautiful trees and a lovely garden.

We had a very kind host, who let us stay the whole day in the hotel, because our flight departed in the evening. She was even so friendly to offer a ride to the airport as well. Extremly nice and welcoming person!

Slightly surprised to discover that the restaurant was closed by my 19:45 arrival. There's only communal tea and coffee facilities, nothing in the room and no elevator for my 23 kilo case either. That said this is an inexpensive place to lay your head if you are overnight transferring through TAMBO.
This eclectic hotel is a short 15 minute drive from the airport. The free pick up and drop off being most welcome. Each room is different. I stayed in Number 2 on the first floor. The bathroom was huge, well fitted and with excellent water pressure and piping hot. The bed was super comfortable and fitted with cotton sheets which always makes for a good night's sleep.

We didn't get the room we reserved.. we reserved a room with lake view, for which we paid a supplement, and had a room without view next to the reception.

I wish we could have stayed longer!
Very friendly staff, great communication. A lovely place just ten minutes from the airport. Very clean, spacious rooms with a lovely shared garden, dining areas, and pool.

Would recommend this place for an one night stay if you need to be close to the airport but not for longer.
Airport transfer is great. Room sufficient. Breakfast slow but fine.
