This may be petty BUT, If I could recommend one thing, it would be to replenish the 3 coffee pods on a daily basis (they were available to purchase on site but would have been a better touch to provide) - did not distract from a wonderful stay though hence the 10 out of 10!)

Melani & Alex were fantastic hosts and they run a fabulous property. We will definitely stay again on our return to Gordons Bay. Rooms were well presented and the attention to detail was very cool - highly recommended.

There was a problem with the electricity supply; but Melani and Alex handled it great. They helped us with good alternatives, so everything was perfect.

Amazing stay! Beautiful views, lovely dogs, nice swimming pool to cool down, cosy seats to watch the magnificent sunset, beautiful garden, comfortable and big room, good & fresh breakfast (fruit, yoghurt, bread, eggs, ...). Very calm location; close enough to Cape Town, Stellenbosch and other activities.

There were virtually no negatives from our point of view. The road up to the property is a little rough when you come off the main road. But it was not too much of a problem for us

The views from the property are exceptional from the mountains to the sea. Alex and Melani are very nice hosts and looked after us very well while we were there. The location is very quiet and really helped us to have the relaxing break we were looking for. We will definitely be back again in the future.

We loved the warm welcome, the hosts sympathy. The place was cozy, clean, charming, and organized. Despite having load shedding (as usual in South Africa), the generator was very nice, but being surrounded by natural beauty from mountains and beach, we don't want to focus on electronic things. Our room with a view to the ocean allowed us to witness beautiful sunsets. The breakfast was rich, healthy and fresh. For sure we will come back to spend more weekends!

What a wonderful gem, hidden on the slopes of Gordon’s Bay. I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful guesthouse. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome from our hosts, Melani and Alex and their 2 friendly dogs. The room we were assigned was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with bubbly, as requested, on arrival. The reception and breakfast room is decorated with furniture with loads of character that the owners have clearly accumulated after years of travel. The absolute highlight is the location of this guesthouse which overlooks the entire bay and has many spots on the premises to read (or enjoy a leisurely lazy afternoon watching the sunset with a loved one). There is a decent- sized pool, with floating pillows and a wonderfully wind-sheltered area where sun lovers can catch a tan on the pool loungers or even on the well-manicured lawns. Any spot in the gardens have magnificent views of the Bay. Do not skip the breakfast! Freshly baked bread, fresh seasonal fruit and a delicious smoothie; we highly recommend that you order Alex’s special scrambled eggs and enjoy the views. We will definitely return later in the year for a longer stay!

Room beautiful, spotlessly clean and with great amenities. Cooked breakfast was very tasty with fresh local produce and home made bread. Hosts were unbelievably friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us.

Nothing is perfect. One minor blemish in an otherwise perfect stay. Booking.com mentioned a sofa bed in apartment room, but there wasn’t one there on arrival. This should be amended to something like ‘sofa-bed available for room, please request before arrival if required’. Problem solved swiftly and sofa-bed was moved in.

A brilliant experience. Sensational views out to False Bay, Cape Point, Table Mountain and in the embrace of The Hottentot Holland Mountains. Epic sunsets. Perfect location for access to Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Elgin, Franschhoek and Hermanus. We like wine! Small but well maintained swimming pool. Apparently also a great location for golf and the owners know every course and have great relationships with them for bookings, so also definitely one for the golfers, but also for anyone on holiday or people like us on business in South Africa. But there are many other options to stay in the area (we travel here to this part of the world frequently), so why Apricot Gardens? It’s in the details: Excellent breakfast with high quality cold meats, cheeses, homemade bread, jams (apricot of course), marmalades and table-ware. Lovely rooms and most importantly (because people make businesses), very kind, helpful and friendly owners Melani and Alex, who are there to help but never overly intrusive. Also a mention for the two gorgeous, laid-back and impeccably behaved, friendly dogs, who like the owners are there if you need help or just fancy a chat but will leave you to your own day if that’s your preference. Great readers of people. That’s not always the case with some guest houses.
